and yes, they might be making a sewuel but no, dicaprio doesn't survive... it will focus around dignam and might star Robert DeNiro (golly gosh, yesss). however, the sequel has to be approved by scorcese and if it works, there might even be a prequel to the departed (Hollywood people and their triologies lol).

Punk: The thing that many say is that the kid left behind belonged to Leo's character instead of Matt's character. I don't think there will be a sequel, but expect Leo to be in another strong movie by Scorcesse.

Blood diamond was good, but The Departed was at another level.

If you want a good movie to watch, then please see "Whats Eating Gilbert Grape?" That put Leo on the map and has an excellent cast as well.

Punk: Me too. I became a fan of Departed because it was moving. There was a scene where he holds his mother's pic and gets overwhelmed...It was a bit too realistic.

Was not a fan of his acting prior to this film, but his performance in the departed won me over.

LOL, ironically, The Basketball Diaries was filmed in the neighborhood I grew up in. 1994-95, if I am not mistaken. It was based on the legendary Jim Carroll. This was also after Kurt's suicide, so I had to see it filmed in the "Jack in the Box" fast food joint close by. Heard it became a Korean cafe now.
