This coaster was supposed to be made by B&M. But they got Arrow instead. Do you know how badass it would be if it were made by B&M?? It would be popular as Kumba.
This was a great ride. I wish they had kept it. What was really fun is if ride it just after it had rained the damn thing was even faster! The long sweepers were incredible.
Loved this ride, but it really was rough. I could only ride it a few times each visit before getting a headache. I also know a girl whose back was snapped by it. She got a huge settlement and that's the sort of thing that made them get rid of it. They lost their insurance on it. Great concept, poor execution.
Drachen Fire was such a great ride, and it wasn't nearly as rough as people say. The unique inversion right after the lift hill was so unique, and my fave part of the ride!!!
I was lucky enough to actually ride this in its heyday, and it was awesome but very rough. Arrow should have just scrapped the B&M design and made their own; Vortex is still standing with more inversions than this... and the curly fry commercial it spawned is classic. They even copied the separate "nosecone" on the trains, and the camel back element. I'm not glad its gone, but that first inversion about 100 ft off the ground at barely 30 mph was a doozy, wtf were they thinking?
I'm sure this coaster wasn't that painful... freaking little girls ruining unique rollercoasters...

the layout for this coaster was really weird.....Busch Gardens Africa was lucky they got Kumba made by B&M instead of this.
