@362boi make sure the foreground color is white, select the layer and hold ALT and hit delete.

I came off a bit too harsh, but I must say that I did learn your first lesson, but the 2nd one frustrated me a bit. Thank you for this tutorial. I did learn a lot.

It took me over 2 hours to watch these 13 minutes of video, but you go way too fast and you skip over many important details that your average person is not going to know about. You skipped over the fill & transform. You should have said press alt when scaling it down. It took me over 20 minutes to get that one. I gave up after that.

you forgot to add to make the background layer white, you have to go to, Edit - Fill - Then under Contents, Use : White. Blending, Mode - Normal, Opacity: 100% -
