The one that has the red light(where the green light is supposed to be at)is somewhat like the Syracuse,NY traffic light where the green light is where the red is supposed to be at.

(excuse my spelling) I always wondered the name of those signals used in either TV or movies, Darley signals. Those Cross Hines interesting enough seemed to make it to the 21st century, intersections not so much, but seem to still even overhang traffic. I used to control traffic with the all yellow interval, but the 4 lights were on the ground, not overhanging. Personally, the older yellow signals, with the not as quick change was safer, in case blown lights. The digital ones seem to quick.
