Im doing this for chorus, really beautiful song, my chorus teacher said that it was his friends fav song in college, but on the way back from spring break that year, she was in the passenger seat of a car and died in a car accident. I honor this song because of this
Very good, just sounds a little fast (for my taste, anyway). We sang this when I was either a junior or senior (1999 or 2000) and did it a little slower, with a full choir. I do have the recording of it (it was from State Festival- Florida) but no video.
My school's show choir is doing this song, we have a lot of work to make it sound better, but its coming together really well. Ur ensemble is very good, but the basses sound a little flat. Other than that, really great job! i hope you got a really good score!
i don't understand why sometimes people feel the need to "help" other choirs out. they have their director to tell them what to do. it's kind of insulting to hear from someone randomly on the internet, however much authority you may/may not have. what they sing and how the sing it is between the choir and their director.
its important for outsiders to give opinions, perhaps the director has certain views about their choir...when in fact, a little bit of work here or there would benefit the group and who knows...perhaps one comment to help the group could change a rating from a 2 to a 1....theres a BIG difference!
i can understand it from perhaps someone who's been in choir for a number of years or a director. i understand the difference between a one and a two...it sucks when you come close and don't get it.
Last note to all: It's a love song so show it!!! Your audience will feel more like you conncect w/ the song than just are singing it if you show emotion
But overall very nice... you guys are a great choir and keep it up!
Speaking from someone who sang this as part of a choir who got a 1 at District Contest (and probably a 1 at sate as well) I just have a few things to say
Girls- 1)Might want to work on tone a little bit, make it a bit more womanly than little girlish you get a little squeaky at some parts Soprano and drown out the Altos
2) Work a bit more on vowels, open your mouths a little bit more almost to the point of yawning... who cares if you look like an idiot... they'll understand you a bit better!
We're singing this song for Maryland all state junior this year. I'm a bass 2...probably one of the few considering the face I'm with 7th and 8th graders too...
I did this song last year with my choir. The tempo we used was just as slow as this one and it was fine. Then again we had the whole choir. You guys did an awesome job with this song though.
From a Robert Frost Poem; The Pasture. I have heard two different tempo's this is just fine. Well done, not the arrangement I learned way back in Hight School, strictly a Male Chorus when we did it back in 77.
Uhm... I think that the tempo was too fast. Think about the words, visualize what you think they mean. I think of a mother or loved one dying, telling their loved one that they would be gone long. The text is sooo beautiful. Show that through the tempo.
Beautiful sound, just a tad to fast for my taste.

I think this arrangement is just fine. I enjoyed it.
This is a moving performance and the performers are excellent.

The title says that it is to Aubrey Nicole Stroope, probably his wife. So it is a love song.

this was not only too fast but it was rushed. dont bend the tempo so flagrantly

That was beautiful. We are singing this is my choir, and this is way better. Possibly a little rushed, but sometimes thats what needs to be done!

Guys- 1) Might want to work a bit more on tone too, for the most part you're good on this but keep it consistent
2) Same as women on vowels. It will make it sound a lot nicer!

This is a clip from Solo and Ensemble. So it had to be performed by a small group from Concert Choir and not the entire group.

It's not supposed to be sad... But it's supposed to be passionate and heartfelt. I think that it could be shown by emphasizing important words.
