Actually this is heading towards Ridgeland and you have to go to the hospital to reach Jackson and it is dangerous as fukk down there. I lived an hour away from the city and it is the 14th most dangerous city in the US.

i live in the sticks of RANKIN county. about 10 miles south of jackson and we have crime as well!! its everywhere in the U.S. no just in jackson. i will say this there is still ALOT of safe areas to live and great places to raise a family in the area

To me Jackson is the halfwayway point between New Orleans and Memphis, about 3 hours to each city, and a good place to take a quick stop between the two. I-55 shall be called the "Blues highway", as all of its major cities- Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis, and New Orleans are noted with a notable blues scene.

The hardest??? who cares it's 2008. Jackson is were I grew up, but I left back in 1992 moved to D.C. and I got to say I'm so glad I did so much to do here VA, MD just minutes away. I will never go back to live in MS. but will always vist family.
