@MrRichstitch it doesnt take a genius to realize that utilizing guerrilla warfare, you can harass an enemy very effectively. Just look at how the Viet Cong used it during the Vietnam war, which eventually led to America pulling out. The Russians got their ass handed to them in Afghanistan to guerrilla warfare, and so to will the US in Iraq, and Canada in Afghan. What needs to be developed is a better approach to fighting against this type of combatant! Do that, and you can end the war.

The idea is to destroy the bomb , not explode the bomb . They are constructed that the primary explosive ie the detenation cord ignites/charges the mass of explosive material . By destroying the bombs mechanism prevents the charge from igniting all of the main explosive . So what your saw was a placed demolition charge to destroy the bomb .

@MrRichstitch it doesnt take a genius to realize that utilizing guerrilla warfare, you can harass an enemy very effectively. Just look at how the Viet Cong used it during the Vietnam war, which eventually led to America pulling out. The Russians got their ass handed to them in Afghanistan to guerrilla warfare, and so to will the US in Iraq, and Canada in Afghan. What needs to be developed is a better approach to fighting against this type of combatant! Do that, and you can end the war.

@kanadol That's exactly my point. How come America doesn't learn from their mistakes? IED's took out hundreds of troops but they're always on the offensive they never worry about defending the soldiers. They still never found a way to prevent the foe from planting these explosives.
