  • It is a brlliant subject for observation, and learning that no thinkinking person could resisit. I wish they used better sound recording preparation. Devices like that are the reason there was such a high rate of litteracy in mathematics and physics in past centuries. In that environment you are intimately involved in applied physics at every moment. Momentum, displacement, gravity, torque, friction, mechanical advantage,1st , 2nd and 3rd laws of motion. Not old fassioned;essential exciting minds.

  • Doesn't Domesday indicate about 13,500 settlements? That's still a striking 0.4 mill per place (assuming all mills were counted), but it makes the achievement a bit more manageable.

  • 2nd Ps.....Sorry

I worked 25 years as a miller, and after that a number of years for a mill building "restoration" company here.

Beautifull mill by the way....very interesting indeed.

  • PS.

I could deliver "sharpening"hammers for the stones as well........still hammers where you have to do everything by hand of course,....but more efficient in handling.

    kindest regards from the Netherlands.

  • If you want new grinding stones,...then come to the Netherlands.....I know people who actually can produce the "modern" ones,....or provide the classic natural stones in any size.

By that I mean,.... up to a size of 1.50 meters in diameter....capable of doing...especially in a water mill....up to between 800 to 1000 kilos an hour.

With the full quallity of the flour you want.

Looks to me that yours are quite small.

If you could give me some info on that,...I would find that most interesting.
