  • how can you dislike this?

  • Ok keep in mind I'm seventeen and when I first saw this movie I truly did not know what music is becouse know days there is jay z and kaney west and whoever but in my iPod there are j and the beaver brown band and lynerd skinerd and pink Floyd and all the classics

Thank you for making some awsome material

  • I wish he was a pedo <3

  • This is what's called "In The Pocket!!!! Music for the Soul!

  • thing song reminds me of a song, i don't know what it is, driving me crazy.

  • Kim, I hope we continue to have many, many tender years. I love you always, and forever babe.

  • We got new original art happening, down here on The Shore!!!

  • proof that a sax can still be a part of some damn good music

  • This was the first song I turned to when I heard Clarence Clemens died

  • My brother has a band and they know how to play this song!! My brother played the lead guitar and piano!! But I still love this song!!

  • sweet!

  • The piano at the end is perfect and beautiful. Now that's what Eddie was lookin' for! Great movie.

  • just a great movie!! and an awsume soundtrack shame we never hear more. but if you are in the pittsburgh area there is a band called 8th street rox look them up on line play alot of music that can resemble this music!!! just awsume!!!!!

    ~tab~

  • you can only understand this song if you only spent time at the jersey shore.

  • @axltaxl Agreed.

  • Too bad this song is not on the soundtrack, it's the best from the movie...

  • it is on the sound track....

  • @MrBigbogie It is on the soundtrack...... i got the soundtrack ....

  • Awesome movie and great song!

  • great movie.

  • I miss Tony Mart's!!!

  • <3 this song! brings back memories

  • so awesome love this song <3

  • WORDS AND MUSIC!

  • Feeling nostalgic today. This song was popular when I was in High School. Wish there were songs like this around today, but there aren't.

  • I thank GOD for my father that has already past away for he tought me what good music was.

  • I wish the Boss had recorded this tune. The Bid Man would have kicked it on the first solo and it would have been five minutes long. The message is eternal. "Please dont go tender years." RIP Clarence.

  • Love!

  • Can't help but think of Clarence Clemons when I hear this,

God needed a horn player, he got the best.

  • @RoShamBohhh HOLY SHIT....I had the EXACT same thought. When I had a chance to actually think about the big man passing, THIS SONG came to mind. THIS song reminds me of Clarence. Out of the whole Springsteen/E-Street catatlog its freaking JOHN CAFFERY AND THE BEAVER BROWN BAND that reminds me of Clarence Clemmons.

Good men like Clarence leave us yet evil hearted bastards like Dick Cheney still get to breathe.

  • Great movie. I always wondered how it would sound if Springsteen, E Street Band covered this at his shows. I've yelled "holy sh*t" when he played some RARE songs at his concerts.

I probably would sh*t if he played a Cruisers/Beaver Brown band tune. lol

  • ok so i know that he's not really singing (gasp) but are the others actually playing?

  • @ABCfamily67 if he's not it's got me fooled.the saxaphone player is playing for real and the bass is too.they are in john cafferty's band.i think the drummer is too not sure.if you watch on the darkside video you'll see him lip singing.i played this for my g/f on our 10th yr anniversery at my friends resturant.she was embarest at first.but gave through.i got a saxaphone.i took me awhile to fill in the vocals with the sax.like 6 months before our anni.everyone loved it.and i was proud.

  • @kevinKENSHI666 ok i wasnt sure awww that sounds really sweet :)

  • first movie my ex=husband i saw together..still love him so much...

  • Rocky Radio .... Too CooooL !!!!!

  • what's increasingly cool about this is his character and band is such an efficient composite of all the talents, triumphs and tragedies of the 1960 give or take era.

  • awesome film, just dont watch the second one.... its terrible....

  • Love this song <3 <3

  • I first watched this movie years ago, and loved the music ever since...brings back alot of memories!

  • It's my first time watching this movie.. and I really loved it and enjoyed it while watching it with my kids.. and i will try 2 find the movies if they still have it and

they songs... i give this movie and the music 10 thumbs up.. WAY TO GO GUYS<3

  • @misukidae You can find it at FYE as a double feature or you can purchase the movies seperately. You should also look at amazon.com

  • THE GREATEST SONG

  • Hard out i love this movie specially this song its so romantic dont you think.....and this movie is a real classic movie thats for sure.

  • Love this movie and song!!!!! :o)

  • A classic! God Bless John Cafferty, Eddie and the Cruisers!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The school where they shot the movie was Ranncocos Valley ..R,V.. in Mount Holly N.J . Franco Harris who played on the Steelers went there....

  • i want something great..something that nobodys ever done before.we aint great.were just some guys from jersey.if we cant be great then theres no chance of ever playin music again sal.both movies were great wish they would do a 3rd one.showing his band mates reaction after they find out hes alive.

  • it truely is onr of the best movies in the world i love the movie when he does th e music he puts emotion in it u get wrapped up in for ever when u hear it

  • I grew up watching this movie and still love it! My daugters now love to watch the movie with me!

  • Perfect song and sound!!! Play trumpet so hearing a sax especially this player kicks aasssss..

  • You have to let the music BREATH !!!!!!!!!!! Why rush a sound that sound`s soooo soooo good ? Playing the drum`s most of me life and in bands for a few times . you have to feel it in your mind and heart ! Then you know you have something worth playing ! Most people say you hear it and most can`t even listen to the word`s cause of thee noise and not instrument`s playing as one ! When you combine Sax , piano , and drum`s to play as one then you havesomething !

  • time 2 watch the movie

  • I loved both these movies and have them on VHS and DVD! The plots might have been a little lame but you couldn't fail to get hooked on the music. I have both soundtracks as well. Bruce Springsteen is good but John Cafferty and his band has a much smoother sound. Michael Pare does a fantastic job of lip synching. That is a very hard thing to do and have it look believable and he does it.

  • I Love this song

  • Best movie and soundtrack ever ! When Rock 'n Roll was in it's infancy...that sax player really hits home! Thanks for posting this awesome clip.

  • Love him

  • I love this song ever since my bro show this movie to me.....I just fell in love with it

  • When Frank finishes the piano solo, it's silent for a beat. Wendell gives him this look like: "Hell yeah." My sentiments exactly, Wendell.

  • A GREAT SONG FROM A GREAT MOVIE. TY 4 SHARING

  • this is a great video,i watch it all the time, wish there was more music like it

  • the saxxx oh god

  • this was definitely one of the best times in music. People can say what they want about John Cafferty, Bruce, Jackson Browne, The Eagles...they are indeed some of the best artists that have ever existed. The 80's and 90's were a great time for music.

  • if i were a guy, i would be just like eddie

  • that real musie!!!!!!!

  • me and my friend's love this. we have our own band, we try to get that sound, we can't

  • @davidhuppie213 I bet youre not from Jersey, thats the first mistake lol if you were from around Denver I could give you that sound, at least the voice anyway

  • @davidhuppie213 slow down, dont force it, and feel it - dont play it, feel it

  • @davidhuppie213

Okay here is the secret to the song first watch the movie all of you.

Now reach into your soul remember that someone or something you miss and wish you could have back.

Then slowly start to play the song each one of you remembering to take your time and let that emotion rule the moment.

You will find the song and it will come out for your group.

Good Luck and make the Cruisers proud.

  • when they first write on the dark side and this part are my 2 favorite parts of the movie

  • This is my favorite song ^^

  • When I heard this song I realized my tender years in the 1950's,my childhood ,were gone. How I wish they could come back.

  • The saxophone and the piano ending makes this one incredible touching song....I love this song and the movie!!

  • I always need to watch this video the first time I saw him I fell in love:) He is just too perfect ugh I wish i could meet him:) He is sooo talented he has a new movie coming out in November Amphibious 3D I would love to see it and him:) I love love love this movie:) I LOVEEEE YYYOUUUUUU MICHAEL PARE!!!!!!!!!!

  • It is all about the music!!!! Great song - great band.... always......... (J and the B Brown Band) deserve more.... they're so great sounding! Where are they now??????? Miss their music, was too great at the time and now I hope they are stilll around ?

  • @rick513513 JC and the Beaver Brown band are still around. They occasionally play in Jersey. I know John Cafferty used to do a lot of writing for movies so I guess he probably still does some of that. Classic band...even though not from NJ, they represent it well.

  • I do love this song and the rest of the soundtrack, but I really could do without the saxophone...

  • @nott818 ur crazy man lol. the sax is awesome!

  • I watched this first when I was like 9 and it terrified me. I watched it again a couple of years ago and the idea still creeped me out. But now I totally love it! When I was younger, I did not realize just how amazing the music is! I have it on VHS.....I wish that I could find it on Blu Ray or something! But VHS works also:-)

  • When Music was real

  • @isaacrood Dang man

  • Each of these songs have a personal meaning to each of us. This is my all-time favorite movie but I wish I had kept it to myself. The memory is now tainted. However the music is still awsome!

  • Does anyone have a better upload of this video this one is soooo like on vhs and it of bad quality

  • @vestel777 Its the only one and the best one, deal with it.

  • @vestel777 ...this one is fine.

  • i first watched this movie with my Grandpa and after he died all i could think about was this movie so i bought it on the DVD i have both of them but this song to me has the most meaning to it

  • i cry on this song, i love this song there, this reminds me alot of my grandma

  • I love this movie and this song is so unexplainably awesome the piano at the end is the cherry on top I love Eddie's voice!! So hot

  • Still get goosebumps @3:28 : )

  • i love this movie i watched it in the 80s and fell in love...and im 41 now and im still in love...

  • It is all about the music. If the bands today could play like this then they would be worth listening to all of the time and even 20 years from now. I seen the movie with a old girl friends when it first came out and I still enjoy today in fact I own both Eddie and the cruisers, and Eddie and the cruisers 2 on DVD. My kids even like the movies. And the bad thing is I was a metal head in the 80's and even now and I still like the movie. You can not forget the music it sticks with you.

  • @tanderson41 I agree with you I was an 80's metal head too still am, and no matter how many times I watch it ( i own it too) it still moves me. classic undisputed great music!

  • yeah my dad watched these movies first before i was born, so by now i've seen them both at least 5x apiece...when i have kids they're gonna know who Eddie Wilson is too

  • you guys make me wanna cry.

actually, i'm crying as i type this. booo hooo hooo.

  • I watched this for the first time in 25 years today on AMC, and Tender Years brings back so many memories. I'm buying the soundtrack on Amazon particularly for that song. Thanks John Cafferty

  • man i remember watching this with my dad hearing him sing every song its a fond memory u never get the tender years back

  • I can't believe that's him actually singing. Fucking brilliant!

  • That's not him singing. He's doing a very good lip-sync. The person singing is John Cafferty.

  • Oh, ok. Geez. It sounds like him.

  • i thought it was him. you have crushed my dreams. the ford van parked outside isn't mine. i promise.

  • @uniguy900 The movies are my favorite, John Cafferty and the BB Band are my favorite, for all of those who watches the movies look at the opening credits which says "all songs preformed by John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band"

  • This is from the movie Eddie and the Cruisers about a group of guys from Jersey playing in a band.

Wow seems like just yesterday when I first saw this.

Wow the time goes by but the music seems even new today one of my favorite movies of all time.

  • i love this song!

  • Eddie wilson your my idol man i wish i could of been you man!! Man i think if they were still out and a real band i think they would of hit the top of the charts eddie and the cruiser, the cruisers you ROCK BUDDY!!!!

  • Michael Pare did such an Excellent Job of Singing. I actually Believed it was him.

  • This has been one of my favorite movies since it came out!

  • Outstanding.

Eddie & The Cruisers are freakin BAD ASS!

    Why?

Because they REPRESENT New Jersey, that's why!

    :0)

ALL you Jersey Boys & Jersey Girls (Mmmm, Jersey Girls do everything better) who know what I'm talkin bout... REPRESENT and give me a thumbs up!

I wish it were possible to head down the shore at night (that's right... we don't go "to the beach", we go "down the shore") and see these guys play during the summer.

Ahhhh, how I miss my Jersey tender years of the 80's.

  • When this came out I was twenty and god it is 2009 wow where did the time go.

Remember seeing this in a great Art Deco Theatre with a bunch of friends and yes it was great to watch.

miss that old hometown and those years of my summer youth.

These guys still get better the more I hear it I miss those tender years.

  • ..the Cruisers, the nasty stuff..lol

  • A classic. Brings back so many memories.

  • Being a Jersey Girl, of course it takes me back to summers at the shore, as a teen, thanks, for the movie and the song.

  • classic movie best fake rock band of all time
