It was fine in 2-D, tolerable and even enjoyable in SA1-2 thanks to variety of other charactes' new gameplay gimmicks, but more than that is total, complete bullshit. Why do you think they added the gimmicks in the first place? To add to the gameplay. Not just running, but two new shifts in gameplay (Heroes), a variety of weapons and a magic sword (you know them) and a dark form with 35 combos.

@SonicthePlumber Thats the sad thing. Thats the reason why game quality is at an all time low ( i.e. Medal of Honor, Fallout New Vegas, FF 14). Developers and publishers know that they are selling the name and not the quality.
@chazkm Other than the Werehog, I found the game to be extremely fun. The Werehog was fun in it's own right too, it just plain did NOT belong in a Sonic game, and it was a terrible idea to include it. That's one of the many things Colors fixed.

@allyzado Have you played the Sonic Fan Remix? Its a free to download fan made game. It was made by only two people. You can download the demo right now. I had more fun with that game than I did with Sonic 4. The laziness is that they are releasing sonic 4 as episodic downloads when they didn't even build it from the ground up. The stages are just re-hashes from earlier side scrolling Sonic games. And your right, EA and Activision suck. You would never catch me playing CoD or Battle Field.
