for some reason ring ships are the hardest for me

even the mother ships are easier then ring ships

@MalformationOfFear99 It's probably because they are invulnerable to missiles, you need to completely rape them with THEL's unless you want some stuff damaged. Mother ships go down with a fully upgraded missile launcher.

ring ships have shields preventing all missile damage. Phasers and THEL work best.

the enemy only comes at certain mineral percentages of base 10 then 20 and so on

Does this enemy spawning rate happen on all missions or certain ones?

The enemy usually spawns at specific percentages like this on the mining missions and any mission that's based on a "% complete" statistic.
