Defend the choke before attempting the escape: pray with your hands together, elbows in, gable gripped to the throat, chin tucked. If your own hands on at your throat, your opponent's arms are not. If your back gets taken, turtle up with your head down, knees tight against your body to stop your opponent's leg-hooks from getting in, then shift you body weight for the reversal once/if they ride you to keep going for that rear-naked choke.
Your bud could have AT LEAST giving you the golden rule... "Never give your back to your opponent"... You would've survived a lot longer... but glad you're having fun with it : )
I can relate to this. I am still in the getting my arse handed to me every night phase of my BJJ training. This shit is tough man. I have fought in Karate Kumite and amatuer boxing matches when I was a kid and I can tell you getting choked out by a guy that has the muscle mass of Mr. Burns is extremely humbling.
I'm glad you're actually enjoying yourself, unlike other people who would likely be getting all butthurt. Although I would've liked to have seen more than a rear naked...
hes no expert sorry, im luking at his skills and hes no expert, he looks like an advanced BEGINER to me, not knocking him but dont call an expert when hes clearly not, coz guys will bash u, keep up the training tho
sory but he s never an expert he does a lot of mistakes like at 1:56 to 2:03 he has a huge opening to do an arm triangle choke sory but ...you just sucks, for me he s not even a blue belt....learn more in one year rewatch the video and the comments you will understand what i say
He's not an expert he's a high blue belt in this vid.. Maby a purple but the guy in the white has great wrestling control regardless. He's just practicing taking the back I do this all the time on guys that are not advanced as me just to see how well the techniques the advanced guys teach me work (:
@bassplayer18a7x8 absolutely. ive been doing BJJ for 3 months and i can already submit 2 of my friends who are both state champion wrestlers and have atleast 60 lbs or more on me. just sparring obviously, not a real fight.
@bassplayer18a7x8 oh, i practice with dudes all the time, especially my 16 year old. dude, i have heard and read stories of guys coming out of prison and becoming lawyers. guys who read all the law books and studied on the law every second they were locked up. you dont have to go to law school, you have to pass the bar. trust me it has happened. i saw a show of a guy who taught himself to become an expert at law, and began filing lawsuits on everything in prison, with pen and paper, and won 10g
@bassplayer18a7x8 i prolly would lose, or i may win, but they cant possibly train harder than i do. i also punch lights out. i hope you arent talking about dudes like this, they r a joke. someone who has trained 2 or 3 months will dominate my years of training? where do you get that? i practice the same moves they do, you dont have to go to a gym to learn, same as you dont have to go to law school to become a lawyer
@IgorBessaSant try it dude ive done it, i train like a prize fighter, but i just do my owrkouts i aint in a league or anything. i know i can do it, i cant beat the experts, but for those guys who think they are hard asses i usually dominate them.

@tinalafermy far from true - a black belt is someone who has tapped for years.
