  • The pics are ALWAYS blurry,ALWAYS fuzzy,ALWAYS out of focus because there really are some delusional people in this country who believe we have leopards, pumas and jaguars running around this crowded little island.

  • Big Cats do roam our country but not ones with white chests. Black panthers are pure black dumbass.

  • fucking howling,

  • in the Forest of Dean where I lived they are no mystery I saw one on a walk and most people have

  • Theres Mr. tiffals!

  • Places for people worker stole this cuddly toy.

  • Ok I've decided. no!

  • Why is the back sooo close to the ground

  • so i believe you had a good day at the zoo

  • @Jackaky lol dude i did some research its either fake or a sylvester which r suppose to b exticnt but magicly apeard again in 2006 well in (england) cause sylvesters r in europe only

  • @wixterdude what is a sylvester? I just googled it and can't find anything, can u provide a link please?

  • fake

  • i won something like that at the local fair last year !! ^-^

  • looks like a stuff doll from toys'r'us

  • crap photo and if it was real he would have taken lots of photos.

  • Ahh! Its the beast of bodmin.....NOT

  • inconclusive, could be a stuffing or taken at whipsnade, longleat or west mids safari park - but i do encourage yes they are out there but wait! why not leave them to it? they were turned loose during the dangerous animals act in 1976 and they rarely kill people

  • This was proven to have been someones dog, Perhapse a Mastiff breed. Look closely at the head and you can make out a squashed dog like muzzle. Also whats with the white patch at the front, is it a toy, a feather or part of the animals colouration? Cats that are black don't have any patches of what on them.

  • its Bagheera! lol jk :)

  • Looks like a dog to me

  • It certainly looks like a cat, but there's nothing to give it scale. Could be a house cat.

  • it looks like a cane corso mastiff to me

  • there is definatly big cats in the uk they used to sell them in harrods and then when the new laws came in people had them put down or released them into the wild. this is a fake obviously got a white chest for fuck sake lol

  • Its a dog

  • EPIC FAIL!!

that stuffed toy did better than you ...

but i think that there are big cats in britain .... >>

  • awwww! what a cute stuffed toy! hahaha! u failll!

  • It's one of those big toy cats that you win at a fair

  • Wow. considering it's extremely unlikely that a panther would have a white spotted chest, this is fake. It looks like a mastiff to me. Even a regular damn cat. It's head is turned to the side and I see slight brindling in the color. Fakkeee.

  • pig shit old boy!

  • hows it a toy u spakca

  • any1 want to be my friend plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • @DiamondsFan pls

  • Even if this wasn't a stuffed toy, it would much more likely be a mastiff-like dog with docked ears than a big cat.

  • Even if this wasn't a toy pet, it would much more likely be a mastiff-like dog with docked ears than a big cat.

  • wat a load of bollox

  • WANKER !!!

  • panthers don't have white patches on their chests fake

  • ha ha good hoax. Big cats could survive in the UK but the chances are kinda low, and also they would not go out infront of humans as they are concidered shy creatures, and this is not a panther nor a black spotted leopard, as they have no white on them, and the chances of geting this close to one other than in captiviy is very low., besides who ever took this the animal in the video if a leopard at all, the photographer would have been killed. end of.

  • What comes to my mind first, when I see this picture, is, that it shows kind of a black mastiff with cropped ears. Not at all a cat...

  • many people reported there animals had gone missing aswell, sadly no camera no evidence this was the 90's so no camera phones, i kick myself wishin we had a camera to hand all the time, they are real seriously so do take care when walking!!!!! p.s. i sh*t you not peeps they are real. hope someone proves soon so i can laugh at people who fink we were making it up!!!!!

  • i am from essex and grew up in brentwood near some woods by the name of south weild, when traveling with my mother back home frm school one day, during a realy heavy rain storm, my mum slamed the brakes! there was wat we can only describe as a zoo size all black cat im talking waaaaay bigger than awsation( exuse my spelling lol) it turned to look at us without a care for wat we were, then slloooowly ploded off into the forest we were on a small country road. local animals were found mauled!!!!!

  • this is a toy and was proven to be a toy

  • This itself is fake, it was on the news, he used his kids stuffed doll or something like that and it tricked the papers. However, if you havnt heard the background to big cats in britain, some time ago they where kept as pets, but as new laws came in the owners released them into the wild. When i was out hunting with my dad in Wales we saw something that looked like a Panther. The farmer has had trouble with it in the past aswell with some animals getting killed. So I think there is big cats.

  • fake, a melanistic cat would NOT have a white patch on chest, the fact that is melanistic totally prevents that from happening, just think albino lack of pigment, only totally opposite with total pigment. There are no naturally occuring large black cats, in order to be black they must have the melanistic genes. Look up jaguars they have the most commonly occuring melanistic states, followed by leopards, and if legends holds true cougars as well.

  • Im pretty sure that photos been discredited in the "Fortean Times" Magazine in the UK As being a stuffed toy! if i remember that was one of a bunch of photos and in all of them the cat had exactly the same pose! Maybe not though cos u never know!

  • i went on camp once, i woke up early 1 morning coz it was very cold as i looked out of the window and i saw a very large black cat walking into the bush, that very same day, we went on a bush walk and a cow was dead and it had very big claw marks on it. i live in Australia and there are lots of sightings of them in Vic, a couple of weeks later after on got back home from camp, i guy had shot 1 such animal, where i went to camp, you see them all the time when you in the bush i know they are real

  • This is a fake, its been outed as a toy in the press. Dont be fooled so easy...

  • @civicmike01 not saying this is real but believing the press is pretty foolish most of the time

  • If we have big cats in the countryside and people get attacked by them, why do the authorities deny it?

  • we DOOOONNNNT have big cats in da country.... same as we dont ave UFOS...

  • But you see huge cat like animals spotted ? :D like recently there was a big black animal on the train tracks , on hulu's channel, and thats no dog

  • @themixtures , i live in the highlands near lochness,a woman near here was attacked by a large hybrid around 2ft tall, it was trying to get her dog. our authorities did not deny it, they even got wild life experts in to conrirm it by her injurys, it wasthem that said it most likely wanted the dog but she happend to be in the way. this pic is a fake though, it was proven to be a toy !

  • yeah very nice stuffed toy. Who do u think u are kidding!

  • @WSPlumber This might be, but I've seen one before in East Anglia... It was really strange.

  • To me it looks like it is tied up and the white on the chest is the rope or whatever its tied with. You can kind of see the rest of the rope on the ground too. Just an idea.

  • I've seen one in the Forest of Dean (not far from where that kid was attacked)

  • I saw one in Reading, Berkshire in 2006 so i know they are 110% real

  • I'm not so sure. I'm only 103% certain.

  • I am 100% sure there are medium/large cats out there in the uk as i have had a couple of experiences with them, i have worked in a zoo so i know what they look like and their behaviour etc. I believe this is a toy, all the stuffed toys we used to sell at the zoo sat in this exact position and it has a big white mark on its chest. Also these big cats are shy you cant get that close, and he would have had to been really close with a camera phone

  • I believe I seen one in dumfries. There bloody everywhere a 74 year old woman in Aberdeen was attacked once I think in December and she needed loads of stitches

  • there was an officially sanctioned government report released in 2003 or so that concluded there is a population (can't remember the exact numbers but there was a big variance, 50-500 perhaps) of wild medium and large cats living in the British Isles, mostly ocelots, lynx, puma etc. as opposed to the larger ones that tend to grab the headlines. pretty conclusive that they are out there, just a question of how many and what species

  • I saw one in the woods in West Wales.... scared the s@*t out of me. I asked around and many people in the area have seen them. When it snowed the farm next door had tracks...a large one with littler one...ie...mother and cub.....they're breeding !

  • a staffie hahahah u are retarded why will nobody admit there out there i know a keeper of a cat just like this soon gettin released into the wild people will keep releasing them till the goverment admits it simple

  • hunt all around the world on your computer. join my group!!!

by the way, looks like a statue...

  • but if it really is a panther/leopard/jaguar... why would they be in the english countryside?

  • Without anything to scale it by that could easily be a dog. A staffie?

  • not a staff its too long plus its got pointy ears. the white stripe down the front does make it ook like some sort of dog. larger than staff though

  • its real only cats sit like that like a sphinx

  • From this image, I can't tell if it's a cat or a dog. Could be a black dog looking toward the camera.

  • Yes. In the 1900s it was a novelty to keep big cats as pets. People couldn't handle keeping them and the cats escaped, now they've sustained breeding populations for some time now

  • this is a soft toy, have to say it

  • Yes, I've heard of these animals. There have been reports of large, black cats in England's rural countryside for a couple of decades now, but with little evidence for it. If it's real, then it's most likely a black leopard, and not a black jaguar. However, some think it could be the much rarer black puma, perhaps intentionally or accidentally released from captivity.
