@jon76398 who thinks that? Pin Up models are usually respected because they do not in any way exhibit the sexual permissiveness that is prevelent in other aspects of the industries. They pride themselves in their modesty. Fashion Models show far more skin then a pin up. But any time you place yourself in the public eye, you are risking the criticism of others. So perhaps this isnt the best job for you.

I noticed that a lot of pin up looks include red lipstick. Are there any looks where you can just wear a different color lipstick??

@angela8976 red lipstick is traditional in a retro look. But you can wear any color you like. I wear a hot pink/rose color in my Ginger Rogers tutorial. And nude lips in my Sophia Loren look.

@jon76398 I absolutely think an african american can ROCK a pin up look. There are some gorgeous girls at Viva Las Vegas every year doing photo shoots and the clothes look wonderful on their natural curves. Not to mention, barrell curls look perfect in black hair. So maybe there isnt a 'big name' pin up model that is african american, but there certainly should be.

I think it's great that you're trying to get more exposure for these girls. I've always wanted to get into pin up modeling, but you never hear much about it! I think it's definitely very underrated, so thank you for shedding some light on these lovely ladies :)

@NiobeHarry then 'overweight' was the wrong term to use. Overweight means 'fat' in most cultures. And to answer your question, most successful pin up models have curves but a very defined waist. If you are shapeley in addition to being 'skinny' then you will be fine. I will remove my prior comment...
