My 02 ws6 m6 with lid/exhaust walked my 06 a4 gto 3 cars from 10-100mph. M6>A4 when comparing gto 6.0 to ls1 f-bodies. m6 vs m6 is a drivers race and actually after 100 mph 6.0 is a little stronger.
ls2 gto stock for stock against an ls1 trans am or ss will win nine times out of 10. I know it depends on a lot of things...driver, weather, transmission..etc. it will be close, but the GTO has the edge.
@applecorn37 Not true man, i own a 01 Ws6 and i crush the ls1 gtos, and keep up with the ls2s pretty good. Buddy owns one and we track all the time. Its always back and forth, but leaning to my edge.
@TorqueMachine the ls1 ta and camaro cars with a good driver and a 6 speed do good against the 6 speed ls2 gtos. both run low 13s but the ls2 gtos are a tad bit faster and are capable of 13.0s bone stock were the ls1s best i have seen were 13.2s in a 02 camaro ss when it was almost brand new. the ls1 gtos are heavy and run mid to high 13s. all these numbers are bone stock cars that i personly seen at the track. i also seen a cam only ls1 trans am run 11.70s!!!!!
@TorqueMachine you must have a record holder or not 100% stock. gm high tech mag had sevral 100%stock ls1 ta and camaros for a ls1 shootout a few years ago and the fastest ls1 car was a 01 ta and it ran 13.17. thats the fastest of the people in the country that came to the shootout.
@BLACKLACDTS guess they missed out on some of the actual fastest. because I've seen first hand my buddies 02 firehawk m6 dyno 321 rwhp 333 ft lbs running 12.7@110 100% showroom stock back in 03-04. This was in good air in november. He ran 13.1-13.3 @108ish all summer that year, and hit the 12.7 in 60's weather. It also that same year got 32 mpg from houston texas to ohio lol. While we're on this topic, search 12.69 camaro and see for yourself.
@TorqueMachine In the end it doesn't matter. I know what my car can do and also know that I've never lost to an ls1 car at the track. I'm sure you have beaten GTOs too. I'm not trying to argue.
the LS2s are pretty quick. I've run a 13.2 with 70 degree weather and I'm all stock. I've known some guys to run high 12s stock with some good weather.
Ugh a v6 mustang will beat any gm/Pontiac Saw that in a magazine.... Lol

In this race I missed third gear. It just didn't want to go in third. That's why he pulled on me for a second

i'd like to race a ls2 GTO but havent had the chance ... ive beat the ls1 GTO's but it might also be the high school kids not knowing how to drive
