This shit is true for whoever actually reads this. Personally i had to help a couple tourists out in the water before. Most irritating one was when this guy paddled his kayak into 3-4 ft surf that we were bodyboarding and almost drowned untill i helped him in. Got hit in the head by his kayak too before i got a chance to help him out. I see so many tourists being saved by locals all the time. These guys have to realize the power of the ocean, they take it too lightly and come with no respect

Cool story, while I was in Kauai over Christmas my daughter's friend Jessie (see Java Kai baristas) almost drowned while surfing. She has been surfing a long time, was born in Hawaii but she just got caught in a wave. We were in a restaurant and she told us how it happened and how scared she was, I wish I would have gotten it on film. I loved Kauai but the winter waves there are not anything to fool around with, I only got in the water once and I didn't go in past my knees.
