  • I was always taught it was "what the hell do we care" i much prefer this version :D

  • Hmm, Liverpool and orangeism? Refusal to sign Catholic players? You're just making this up! Both clubs trace their roots back to Domingo New Connexion METHODIST chapel team. Everton as a district was traditionally an orange area. Trying to make some sort of celtic/rangers type divide is ridiculous.

  • This gives me goose bumps E.F.C TILL I DIE COYB

  • celtic 1888 everton 1878 who is copying who???. u scotish/irish shit football club cunt!!!!!!

  • @countyroadcut

Original version of The Celtic song was recorded in 1961 by Glen Daly.

The song was made by a Celtic fan to the Celtic fans.

Sing it but remember it's auld history

  • @HammarbyBhoy The song was an old Belfast Celtic song. In the mid 20th century many of the Street End were first or second generation Irish reacting against LFC's Orangeism and refusal to sign catholic Irishmen by supporting Everton. The Gwladys Street was close in make up to the jungle: working class, very ethnically Irish.... The Irish gloryhunting with LFC since their ascendancy in the 70s shouldn't obscure that history...its a Belfast Celtic song borrowed by the Jungle and the Street End

  • @tigerarmyrule It is one of the few local derbies that does not enforce total fan segregation.[2] With so many families and friends supporting both clubs, it is not uncommon to see Evertonians and Liverpudlians sitting together during the derby. The 1984 Milk Cup final at Wembley had the strange sight of almost all sections of the ground being mixed and combined chants of "Merseyside, Merseyside" and "Are you watching Manchester?"

  • @tigerarmyrule the only time there was any segregation may have been a very long time ago thats all dead and buried now we don't need a old firm in Liverpool it will only hold the cities regeneration back with negative press from southerners if there weren't enough already

  • @JamesCunnyy I agree. LFC's de facto ban on Irish catholics ended 40 years ago and the Scouser Tommy VS Grand Old Team era is long gone but it was there pre '70s. If you know Ireland you'll know that few if any under 50s are LFC fans ( Irish LFC fandom is largely a bandwagon supporting success ) whereas under 50s are hugely red. Over 50s are more likely to be United of course and Everton....the teams long associsted with hiring Irishmen.

  • @HammarbyBhoy Bullshit, note the lines We don't care what the red side say, Rangers play in Blue ya fuckin herm. And Everton have a real history unlike shitty celtic.

  • @JoelGeetar

    The Celtic song.

  • @countyroadcut

Everton copy Celtic and I'm a fan of both. The original was "The Celtic Song" and there have been many spin offs, Everton included.

  • Copying Celtic

  • @XJamesnliz Do you say 'red shite' in your version? No. In which case, it hasn't been copied. Celtic are shit. Scottish football is fucking wank. Get over it.
