You are right. However, if an illegal undergoes an emergency operation in a local hospital totaling $1 mil. The hospital tries to get reimburse by the federal gov. Now under this statement; they won;t pay. So who is going to absorb this payment? The hospital will bill the state...resulting in higher taxes for all of us. Another words, fed don't pay, state will have to pick up the tab,and state is going to charge us in taxes to balance the budget. This is the 2nd half of the story.

It appears that they're afraid of having a sharp demographic shift in the age of their population--too many senior and not enough youthful citizens to care for them and keep industries going.

can you give me the number of the amendment that would allow illegal aliens to be covered by the Federal gov in regard to the health bill. CSPAN had a list of amendments but I can't find it today.
The Rep. Zack Space Amendment, passed on a voice vote on Friday 31 July had NO enforcement provisions. It affirms the status quo that illegal aliens continue to receive health care.
So long as they go to the emergancy room, that's true or if they pay out of pocket. This current bill, as it stands now, is a Health Insurance Reform bill and there is no provisions in it for anyone in the country illegally. It's say just that several times in the bill. And no amendments to the bill have been purposed to allow it. But of course, if an emergancy treatment, Medicare will pick up the bill or part of it, as usual.
okay illegal immigrants means they are illegal...what else is there to debate?
