  • You'd have to show me where they turned that with stock tires.I'v read a lot on these things, and they've allways changed the rear tires before they could get in the 11's.I'm just telling you what I'v read, and by no shape form or fashion am I knocking those cars, one of the baddest rides ever built!

  • I love this thing, but when I was out cruiseing,I'd have to leave those wheels in the shed under a canvas. They came on those cars because they were going to get a set of after market wheels and tires as soon as they left the lot.The tires made'em a mid 14sec. car,a set of slicks put them in the 11's.But,for nostalja reasons, they look right.

  • @5BobbyDavis They weren't that slow with a stock tire

  • @skipdafer I used to have a copy of Hot rod or car craft or CHP,I Can't remember which.Anyway, the driver they had could only turn a mid 14,but he was going up in smoke, spinning thru 3rd gear, " driver".They put on a set of 8in slicks and some other tuning mods and he ran low 11's.Thats a big improvement for just a set of tires and jet changes. In another issue they did the same thing with a 396/375 Chevelle and had pretty much the same amount of improvements.Anyway,I love your car.

  • @5BobbyDavis i can see that happening with a driver who couldn't harness the zl-1's torque. A good set of modern radials would get these cars down to the 11's or 12's as well. Tires back in the 60's had no traction whatsoever, had to use slicks then

  • @skipdafer A new set of the new drag radials sent back in time would'v made you the king of street stock.Actually my son said that article was on a L88 427 Camaro not a ZL1,Heck it's been a long time ago,but I certainly could't see a ZL1 hooking better on that rubber.

  • older cars are great. but modern cars are light years better

  • Can't get enough of these videos!! Nicely done!

  • omg that camaro is sexy!!. the 1969 yr was the best bodystyle for the camaro to me.

  • Guys think about it, THIS WAS THE FASTEST CAR IN A STRAIGHT LINE IN THE WORLD IN 1969. This car was unbeatable, and is almost as fast as the new camaro ss in 2010 (not around a track). This car is a classic, and they sell hella expensive. This is an imporant piece of automotive history guys

  • @JohnDPearson90 I got news for you bud, these are faster then the new camaro ss's. The zl-1's ran mid 11's stock, the new ss can only pull off a high 12 with a good driver

  • Dear sweet baby Jesus.

  • All American. No BS......

  • That's beautiful. American muscle cars simply have a timeless appeal! I'd love to feel a car like this out on a track.

I've got a COPO Camaro for sale as well, in fact. A video is posted on my channel of it.

  • One of the premier sleepers in it's day.

  • The car sold for 418,000 dollars at the auction. No big, a 69 GTO Judge sold for 682,000 dollars at the same auction. Take a check?????
