Also, I bet this episode is one of the "pro" instances when Alejandro is thinking Diego might be Zorro - he noticed that the guitar string had been intentionally mistuned! He's probably wondering if Diego used that as an excuse to "go to bed" so he could go investigate Benito's report of Zorro riding toward the mission at San Gabriel!

"It is very strenuous, playing the guitar." I just learned how to knit recently, and let me tell you - no matter how much fun it is, something that demands a lot of the same wrist and hand movements time after time can make you feel like you're about to twist your wrists off. Plus, my mom plays guitar - I bet she's sometimes felt like her fingers were about to blister after playing for a while! I can understand why Diego'd get tired quick - even if Alejandro scoffs!

I think Alejandro figured it out on the episode zorro saves him, because he said "I can imagine if I took the mask off I would see the face of my son" or something like that. but he most likely knows by this episode.

This has to be an episode where Alejandro knows or at least starts to suspect that Diego is Zorro. He found out Diego lied about the strings right after news of Zorro 2 riding around, how many explanations are there for that?

@childhoodcontinues Yeah, caught the bit with the guitar string, too. Think Alejandro only hoped Diego was Zorro in 1x07 / 1x08. But now, his suspicions have been raised. He still gives Diego grief in episodes through the rest of the season. Is it that he just can't help it? Or is he testing?
