  • @spankMAbooTAY Yup yup, some other folks in the comments managed to translate it too. No worries.

  • I'm fluent in reading in Greek. It's Russian.

  • The other thing says PASSPORT and on the bottom: good day

  • It`s russian and it means- I did my thing now I can bravely go on . Or something on that line.

  • カオスだね

    日本のヘンな

    文房具

  • rivetgunner,

    だが初めて見たロシア語が付いている文房具だな。

    英語でもフランス語でもなく。

    ちょっと感動するw

  • It's Russian. It says Sdyelal Dyela gulyay cmyelo, which I put into a translator and it reads, "Did it take walks boldly?" I can read Russian, but I don't remember any words hahaha.

  • ManaStar,

    LordBalto seems to have nailed down the answer. Russian proverb meaning work hard, play hard.

  • It's the Cyrillic alphabet because it has letters that aren't in Greek letters. It could be Russian but it could be Ukrainian etc maybe even Mongolian

  • That is an intriguing mystery. If you ever find out what that means let me know. I just translated a coworkers German shirt for her. It made no sense and contained a lot of words that weren't actually words. Mostly because they contained no vowels what so ever. Never seen anything with that alphabet on it before though.

  • waigugi,

    LordBalto seems to have nailed. Russian proverb meaning work hard, play hard.

  • your German pronunciation was bang on. It really is pronounced " Ich liebe Bier" = " I love Beer"

    I really like your vblog. Keep it going ^^

  • Damn if I could help you fully understand if it was French XD A lot less German, and certainly not when it's Russian. (>ω<)

  • Russian= Ты такая необычная

    Greek= αἰθάλη

  • ltlocus,

    Ah yeah.... You're absolutely right. It's been so long since I studied math or science in uni. With all the Greek letters used as symbols I should have recognized this as not being greek.

  • RUssian

  • My money is on it being Russian.

  • Funny thing is I use to have a shirt that said " Beir zum Frühstück" which means Beer for Breakfast! I miss that shirt .

  • I worked with a woman who did that.

  • its russian

  • We got that already....

  • Well excuse me for answering the only way I could. I just know its Russian bc my best friend is Russian. Just because I recognized it doesn't mean I can read it.

  • angel21d & LordBalto,

    No worries folks. Bound to be some overlap.

  • This is Russian alright) not Greek.

  • How do you say condom in Russian?

  • I can not reply, youtube censoring it.

  • презерватив

  • Yeah, its common. But there's also another ...which is rude and can be used for swearing )

  • lol interesting... I saw alot of T-Shirts with nonsense german at the graniph design t-shirts store, its like they just copy and paste german poetry and run it through google translator a few times for fun.

  • Паспорт == Passport.

  • Хорошего дня == have a nice day )

  • Сделал дело - гуляй смело. This is Russian saying.

    Meaning: "Finished your job - take a break". or something like that.. well, what's in that package? condoms?

    Russian is my first language. If you have any questions or want me to translate something, PM me.

  • I'm still not clear on why the Japanese would be selling stuff labeled in Russian. English I can see, but Russian?

  • Comment removed

  • Why not?

  • A lot of Russian speakers in Japan? Might as well sell stuff labeled in Inuktitut.

  • A lot of the foreign girls in the red light districts are Russians.

  • Now that you mention it, I did read about that someplace. Kind if fits with the "business before pleasure" motif, doesn't it? :-)

  • LordBalto & TakarazukaTim & pmf026,

    I think we can all agree that whoever made these notepads, they succeeded in being first at something. After a while I guess putting English on everything got old.

  • "ich liebe bier" sounds not bad ;) but would not wear that on my t-shirt:D maybe thatjapanesegirl would wear such a shirt^^ it seems that she loves beer:D

  • Well, it makes sense, but it doesn't have much to do with the actual product, does it? Unless they are suggesting that you should use it for business before pleasure. At least they spelled it right!

  • "хорошего дня" means "have a good day"

    You took 2 guesses that turned out to be correct in this video! well, almost with the "have every happy day"

    To sum up, it isn't nonsense....right?

  • HebinoMataru,

    Maybe not nonsense, but bizarrely inappropriate perhaps.

  • HAH! Typed it into Google. It's a Russian proverb: Sdelal delo, gulyay smelo. According to Wikipedia it means "[When you] have done the job, [you may] take a walk boldly."

    English version: "Business before pleasure; Work hard, play hard."

  • Exactly.

  • LordBalto & pmf026,

    Really? So it's not complete nonsense. Just overly profound for a notepad, perhaps.

  • Yeah.

  • I Saw in Japan a girl with a t-shirt that read if you can read this you are stareing at my boobs wonder if she knew what it ment. i think i been caught looking now but hey i'm a guy.

  • well said xD

  • BahamutDKing,

    Hey, sometimes you never know who's a native speaker. ;-D

  • Languages are a truly wonderful thing.

  • Lesson #1

    First view the video before posting a comment...

    And yes it's Russian :P

  • HaxorLee,

    No worries. Yah, I should have recognized the lack of recognizable Greek letters, but it's been way too long since I studied Physics and Math.

  • I can speak Greek. What do you need? :P

  • walking around town at 1am is golden! see what you can find, good stuff!

  • betamaxdc,

    Saw one guy sleeping next to a whiskey bottle. The regulars were there too. Illustrator Joe and Toho Rikimaru.

  • сделал = did

    дело = case

    гуляи = walking

    смело = boldly

    сделал дело

    гуляи смело = done deal walking safely LOL

  • kakera,

    So, complete nonsense just like your average T-Shirt English then?

  • Well, you know I didn't see the dash before, looking again it makes more sense.

    сделал дело-гуляи смело is "made a case-walked boldly"

  • You pronounced that right btw, I love beer too!

    And it's Russian. I recognize the л

    nacnopt means passport. The rest ... no idea.

  • TheDutchGaijin,

    Russian was my first guess too, but then I realized I don't know enough of either Greek or Russian to be able to tell the difference. I'm sure there's telltale letters, kind of like what you can look for in mainland Chinese characters as opposed to Taiwanese or Hong Kong Chinese characters.

  • It's Russian, I believe. I can't read it though.

  • its "Russian" haha

    i looked up the alphabet and all the letters on there where there :p

  • FrankzTerz,

    Hmm... Aha. I might know someone. Thanks for helping narrow down the language at least.
