those escalators are actually pretty cool. they aren't stairs, but they go up and are made so that the carts don't slide backward when you set it there. i have no clue how.....

They have them at oriental supermarkets here in Los Angeles too, if I remember correctly they're Korean supermarkets. They're also popular in China. I know the wheels lock while on the conveyor belt thing so the don't roll back. Wish I could go to Korean, never been (yet).
