  • The fools who see conspiracy, (or commies, crazy hippies, tax grab, blah blah blah) in climate change science seem to think that the past 150 years of industrial activity has had no affect on our planet. Right - and the planet is only 6,000 years old too?

  • This guy is a fanatical freek. This is pure alarmist propaganda. Remember volcanoes have been pumping co2 into the atmosphere for billions of years with no accumulation. The Pacific ocean is now cooling and the sun is in an inactive cycle. Man is controlled by the cllimate and is no more than a passenger on the planet.

  • I speak as someone who grew up believing the lie that is/was man made global warming.

George Monbiot is a shill. A sock puppet. An agent of influence. This is obvious once you use your discernment to read his words or listen to him speak & research the majority of scientists not in the pay of the UN or given their own Guardian columns.

The 'green' movement has been manipulated by powerful interests that seek to impose tyranny via a tax on your out breath.

If you can't see it by now, you won't

  • OK from now on - only exhale once for every 2 inhalations.

Coincidentally, the ice-caps on Mars are also receding at fast rates. Look to the Sun's output.

  • Why did all the dinosaurs walk to saudi arabia and die?

  • Let's face it, Monbiot is nuts. He recently wrote an article advocating that everyone with a spare room in their house should be made to take in a lodger for free. He argued that this would save us from having to build so many new houses and the lodger could help out with the housework instead of paying rent. Bonkers if you ask me....

  • @gourdonboy Makes sense to me.

  • Here's something interesting that makes the theory of man made gloabal warming void... Valcanoes. Let off more emissions than we ever have in our own history in one go... Just saying.

  • Mystic Monbiot tells the future again. Tipping point? this is not a titration if he even knows what a titration is. The temperate regions of the world will get hit first if the Planet cools.

  • Comment removed

  • MONBIOT = CUNT

  • @thermaldog Agreed

  • A joke. Monbiot is not qualified to talk on this subject.

  • @gourdonboy what qualifies you to make that assertion?

  • @ParticleJesus

Err, because he is a zoologist and is not an expert in climate change.

  • Frightened fear monger Georgie boy is, the sun causes most of the global warming and methane is far worse a threat to the atmosphere from thawing ice tundra. Volcano's and rotting bacteria produce more co2 than all human activity, this guy is selling books.

  • @gillesbeg

    Scientists most certainly do dispute anthropogenic global warming, so, ipso facto, doubt exists. But it's fairly typical of AGW zealots to shape the facts to suit their argument, just bloody tedious to repeatedly correct them. Well this is the age of spin {sigh}

  • This man is wrong. George says 'Almost everywhere, climate change denial [sic] now looks as stupid and unacceptable as Holocaust denial'

I say 'Anthropogenic climate change advocacy now looks as stupid and unacceptable as George Monbiot' (which is pretty stupid and totally unacceptable).

  • food and water will cause the next world war

  • Climate change was made up, it i a lie. European families are now paying for this nonsense taxation.

  • He really has no idea what will happen next year, let alone 50 years. This twat is no better than Al Gore. Retard. Someone forgot to mention the medieval warm period - temps were hotter than today and human civilization flourished.

Of course 'climate scientists' will believe in AGW theory. That's like asking how many priests believe in God.

  • @Rotpig And you still worship petro-chemical industries and conspicuous consumption, you're just a priest in another church. MWP was not hotter than today, and anyway that is almost completely irrelevant. We have billions more people on the planet for a start, and when water stress, famines and extreme weather events really start to kick in, the effects are going to be much worse when refugees start flooding across borders and states start fighting wars over resources.

  • I am head of the New World Order's climate policy department. I have decided to leak our strategy. We have for a couple of decades been persuading the entire climate science community to falsify their results and come up with theories they know are nonsense in order to further our program of making people believe in anthropogenic climate change. We have not had our lackey politicians take any serious action about this however, particularly the most powerful ones in the US and China.

  • Climate change has been proven to be a complete socialist hog wash. George needs to get with the times.

  • Just another moonbat employee of the bankers, I'm afraid. He looks like a complete idiot.

  • The comments attached to this video are frightening. How many of the nay-sayers here are scientists? Or at least have some empirical evidence to back up their simplistic, knee-jerk reactions? (Unfortunately people who share Monbiot's concern for humanity's future are not 'running the world', as Mister Warrior Prince would have us believe, this was well established at Copenhagen.)

  • @sanctumtheatre I have looked into this subject, I dare say more than you or george, and I can only implore you to go away and do some of your own research. There is no evidence for significant anthropogenic climate change. The 'scientific consensus' is illusory and the methodology and data used to promote this (political) agenda are seriously flawed and have been proven so time and time again. As for who runs the world? Well that's another subject in itself. Good day!

  • @arcanekrusader More than George?! Really?! Can you point me to your many books and essays...? And can you tell me with hand on heart that you are not a right-inger/libertarian. Your posts reek of political motivation and lack of scientific knowledge.

  • @joecushley He's certainly read a lot of propaganda, and believed it too! I've read a lot of propaganda too and also a lot of real science. BTW, I'm a physical geographer. Yes, I am a libertarian: most people are. My motivation is not political (unlike george), it's about preventing what is shaping up to be the worst mistake of the centuary! Do you understand the implications involved in believing this nonsense? No.

  • @arcanekrusader He's read proper science and understood it. You haven't. You've gone in with your politics to the fore and dismissed anything that disgrees with your world view. "Most people are libertarians." What?! "My motivation is not political"?! ... Your symbol is the UN flag with a big red cross thru it. You scream politics!! Saving the planet's climate is "the biggest mistake of the centuary (sic)"? ... Very funny. Now come on, seriously... Oh. You REALLY believe this shit. Oh dear...

  • @arcanekrusader

pointless arguing with meme, intoxicated zombies. When the capitalist/state alliance starts hoovering up their meagre earnings in carbon taxes and traders switch their attention fully to carbon futures & derivatives, they may snap out of it. Too late by then of course. Those of us who're less suggestible and have looked into the political ramifications of all of this, worry about a different future.

  • @arcanekrusader, Your "looking into the subject" clearly has not been reading the over 1000 peer-reviewed articles and essays that clearly, unambiguously shows that AGW is the ONLY proximate externality that can, and cleazrly does support the theory of global climate change. To cleam there is some 'debate' among the scientific community is simply to lay bare the level of non-understanding you, and others, possess on the subject.

  • i listened carefully to this video and i can honestly say he is misinformed.

  • Many of his followers believe the crap he spouts (they know no better). Monbiot must know that he is lying (or at least not qualified to comment). Since when did an MA an zoology qualify you as an expert on this topic? He is just using this to advance Communist agenda.

  • George Monbiot talks complete and utter rubbish.

Yet sadly his ilk are running the world.

  • Monbiot; A face a mother could punch.

  • all of you are dumb.. plane dumb.

i bet not one of you has actually done any research on this topic, or read any of Monbiot's work. You've all bought the bullshit from the people who stand to lose the most - the fossil fuel corporations. Of course they've going to denounce climate change. Hippies, lefties whatever you wanna call them are actually just trying to make sure we all have a world to live in. Of course if we go your way, we'll all be eating money in a few years..

  • A net drying trend with warming? This guy is just a complete fucking moron. What an idiot. He's a liar and an idiot.

  • Monbiot is a dirty liar, who attempted to mislead the Australian public regarding Volcanic emisions of CO2. Monbiot has carried off the lie that undersea volcano's emit about the same amount of CO2 as above ground Volcanoes. He has not backed down from this lie to my knowledge. And he recruited this lie specifically for the purpose of defamation.

  • The comments on this video are typical of the stupidity, agression and wilful ignorance of humankind. I am embarrased to be the same species as you people. We are doomed, because you have numbers on your side...

  • dont worry, there are lots of sane people out there too! unfortunately empty vessels make the most noise! as plato said 'As empty vessels make the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest blabbers'... ok that was a little pretentious on my part...

  • unfortunately, lordvoltron.... i agree with you...

  • Unbridled alarmists such as George are sad voices for a sad facton, the utopian-left. Social engineers that would have babies reduced purely because they represent the producer of carbon waste (that's their jingo, it's really CO2 they are talking about)

  • The tragedy is that this guy and the likes of him are causing a CO2 panic that is causing governments who are running scared from the big green monster to shift farming ground from food production to bio-fuel production. Mother Earth has given us reserves of energy for us to capitalise on. These forms of energy have lead to great advancements in technology and science not to menation standard of living. To stop the use of these fuels now would be an unecessary thing.

  • Monbiot is a nasty piece of work. I just read a Guardian article in which he really went overboard in trying to character assassinate prominent AGW skeptic Lord Monckton. It was a very, very personal attack ... anything to avoid giving others a fair platform to be heard. Up your Monbiot.

  • How the fuk do they know anythin about the climate full of shyte, they cant even tell the weather to the next day how the hell can they predict it globally in the future full of shyte sandle wearin tree huggin nobs begging the government to tax us wtf. He goes on about famine and plagues i want to be sick listening to him, they the governments and these freaks introduced bio fuels that doubled food prices creating more famine Monbiot your a twat simple as, and your talkin out of your ass

  • hahah

    Look at this prick.

He looks crazed....What a fucking TOOL!!

deluded cunt....Go and eat some lentils you mug...Ill be in my 4x4....

  • Probably a Bilderberger..Check it out.

    Fucking MUG-Arrogant CUNT....

On the payroll to spew out his lies....

    Deluded.

Who does he think he is? FUCK YOU you arrogant prick

  • monbiots greatest contribution to society is the word "moonbat"

  • Monbiot knows hit stuff.,\

  • Yes he does and he knows better. But what's really gonna toast us is Yellowstone and Mthice release

  • @Glenmead You are a scummy bastard. They did not hide the decline they out the actual weather statistics, that have been measured in the last few decades, so fuck you shit for brains NAZI cunt. You lie and lie and will kill millions by your corporate evil bull shit.

  • He looks as if he is reading off a teleprompter and lying at the same time . Damn Charles de Gaul sucking faggot!

  • In your dreams Are you that guy from deliverance?

  • NO, I am the shorter brother from the movie WRONG TURN

  • Hey Moonbat, you're such a fool and a liar, you made the dictionary. Nice place in history.

  • If there weren't 9bn of us on the planet (2050) the problem would not be anything like so serious.

  • george monbiot is a fabian society member and pushing the green agenda through the media, he is a psy op stooge funded by the labour party.

  • Hey Stevie, your tinfoil hat is torn.

  • So what is wrong with that then. Are those illegal groups?

  • a question, how does a profesional activist make his living? who is paying him?

  • george monbiot is a weekly columnist for the guardian... nobody is a professional activist. Activism is not an activity limited to the expertise of trained and conditioned elites like law or science.

  • How does George Monbiot make his living? He's a best selling author and journalist (e.g. Guardian).

  • yes, i bought one of his shit books 2 or 3 years ago (the heat). he is a total propaganda agent. as most journalists are. not all, ofcourse, but it actually comes with the job

  • Monbiot is a shill or a very stupid man. i would bet on him being an agent. what is an environmentalist doing discussing vigorously 911? ofcourse, everything along government lines..

  • Over 31,000 official US scientists have signed a petition rejecting the idea that "Global Warming" is man made. How does that tally with the so called "concensus" that most scientists agree it's man made?

  • these people have lying eyes. way too sincere. these people are rarely right. science has nothing to do with it. i'm an old fashioned sort,i guess. insult at your leisure.

  • I rather regret saying that. Very stupid.

  • wait a minute --- isn't this about problem-reaction-solution again?

  • ladies and gentlemen, this man knows little about what exactly is going on and the extend he is being manipulated making him do the actions he does. The problem is, it's people like him that the goyim read and uh, give more credit than they deserve.

  • Phoebus, it would be nice if you learnt to spell.

  • racist

  • I think he is absolutely gorgeous, the husband I never had...or met.

  • Marry me instead.

  • good user name.

  • Thank you very much George! Great point.

  • Clever man.

  • 4 books a' shite pal

  • Am i the only one who thinks that Monbiot is gorgeous :s

  • @sylvieplath Afraid so

  • @sylvieplath Hell no! I'd hit that!

  • "If we were in the tropics we would have acted on this by now." Really? Then why hasn't Brazil stopped all forest destruction?

  • "Limits to Growth" "The Population Bomb." Great books from the 60´s that got all their predictions right just like George Monbiot´s.Yeah right!!!

The problem is that people can write books that make ridiculous and inaccurate predictions about environmental catastrophies and get away with it, I don´t know how they do it but this is how it is.

  • straight1straight has put it beautifully.

Could there be an element of denial in the anthropogenic global warming argument itself?

  • I think that Monbiot has got so much of th problem spot on, however what he does not seem to understand, and i am open to being persuaded that im wrong on this, is the fundamental nature of the way the human species relies on denial to operate from day to day. Denial is the No. 1 enemy we have to fight here, and denial is human nature. I suggest, as did plato, that humans live in a world of denial as a result of humanities inability to live with its own self awareness.

  • spot on!

  • he is speaking truth. ancient sunlight indeed. the thing is to use the remaining oil for important things and not waste it ourselves.

  • Scientists do not deny that global warming exists, and it is as serious as Monbiot says.

The science of global warming is not in doubt. The question is, why do people continue to live high-carbon lifestyles, and bury their heads in the sand?

  • @gillesbeg or think it doesn't exist or is man made and that its a NWO scam

  • @gillesbeg You are wrong. Do some research you idiot.

  • What was the date of this interview?

  • Regardless of the cause (manmade or solar), we should be focusing on finding a solution.

  • That is bullshit though.. Scientists have been aware of the carbondioxid emissions impact on the greenhouse effect since the 70's. And it's an unimaginable problem, there are no desceprencies among serious scientists concerning this issue. Seriously.

  • Check the scientific institutions. There is a stron scientific consensus about man-made global warming. DON'T DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH! There is just no way you as an average skeptical blogger are more qualified to comment the finer science of Global warming and immensely complex systems are best left to professional institutions. And they all agree. We're causing global warming and we should stop spewing out CO2! Why do you think you're smarter than the scientific establishment of the planet?

  • on the contrary...the average skeptical blogger requires proof beyond reasonable doubt and as long as govts continue to invest money in oil andcar companies continue production of petrol driven cars there is reasonable doubt....Attack govts and car companies to see a change...

  • Almost NO scientists are skeptical of this--and the few that are have been (for the most part) hired by the petrochemical indistry to cast doubt in the public mind.

  • Monbiot speaks the truth, as best we know it, and it's backed up by our best science. Naysayers will only be satisfied when the earth actually is burning, and by then it will be far, far too late. Even if Monbiot exaggerates by a factor of three, it's time, and past time, to act.

  • Monbiot does the enviornmental cause a great disservice. His exaggeration will be seized upon by sceptics who will use it to their advantage.

  • It is just wishful thinking to say that George is exaggerating the problem. You only have to read the daily papers to see the changes that are already occurring.

  • A doom-merchant selling a book, expensively, on how people like him can change the world's climate.

  • I have read, and read on this subject, and the evidence of warming is debatable and the cause of it more nebulous.

Ask him why there was an ice age ending 10,000 years ago, or why Romans were able to grow grapes in Scotland 2,000 years ago, or why the medieval warming period happened, and he will look at you like you've got two heads.

He doesn't speak much about the old sun either.

  • Oh yes, another climate change expert depicting doom, tipping points, and promising that he can stop it by producing less CO2. The earth has had far more CO2 in the atmosphere in the past, and it has survived.

And not one single mention of the output of the sun.

Is this guy selling a book on the subject or something?

  • Pt1:"The World" will survive, and rather easily. It is human beings that will suffer severely. A society like ours has never existed in the history of our planet, though primitive societies survived, they were damaged severely, though in no way will this be anything like the suffering our vast, interconnected, global society will endure.

  • Pt2:Yes, this expert has written a book (infact, several) on the topic. But, then, since he is an expert in this topic (in addition to geopolitics) wouldn't it be be irresponsible of him to devote his time to other activities? I find that criticism rather facile. I would rather an expert on the topic write a book on it than one so ignorant and willfuly obstinate as you comment upon it.

  • Yes the Earth has survived cycles of ice ages and also super greenhouse periods. It's the species on the Earth, especially us humans, we need to be concerned about.

  • Thanks for posting these, and thank god for people like Monbiot. I can't wait til he tours in the autumn.

  • Vote Ron Paul 2008 for President!

    . Defender of the Constitution

. Vote AGAINST the Patriot Act

. Has NEVER voted to raise taxes

  • Ron Paul, the candidate for angry white boys.

  • George Monbiot is correct. I just read his book. We are headed for planetary genocide if we don't all jump through our ass and get busy about it.

  • Heat should be the new bible ;)

George Monbiot gives us all a clear vision!

    Thanks for uploading!!!

  • Thanks
