Bruce Springsteen. The one melody wonder. Now that his career has landed in the dumps where it always belonged, he heists songs from the sincerely original and radical singer, Woody Guthrie. Eternal shame on Springsteen - his only artistic value - is as a rip-off artist.

hell on all the ones who dont know a good song when they hear it- I think Bruce did a great job on this song--The ending was the thing that caught my ear--It was great. And im not a Springsteen fan--But i love this song. And what the hell has the words got to do with Bruce being rich? He is an entertainer not a social worker-Some jerks just dont get it.
@ConstantineRobbins what are you talking about,Bruce lives in New Jersey, raised his kids in Jersey, hes very humble, sings for the working man, the poor man, the losin kind, the shot down strangers and hotrod angels.
Thank you, Woody. Thank you, Bruce. Here's to the uncertain experiment we love: America. We're all scared orphans lookin' for freedom. Let Mark Twain be our pen, let the guitar be the tune to our soul, let the Rockies be our playground, let the us speak softly, and carry a big stick.
Ain't got no home. Nope. I've got 5. And a yacht in the Mediteranean waiting with a helo pad. Yep, I'm just like my fellow bluecollars. Except for my yacht and 5 houses.
we always been stripped and cheated. we are the common man/woman/child. like the people Woody Guthrie wrote about, the Oklahoma folks durring the Great Depression who got tractered out by the cats. They catapillared their homes and drove them out. it's okay for the bankers2cheat them; the democants and the repugnantkins gave them white collar anarchy so they could victimize the poor, like it was since ancient Egypt.

Bruce, u did the song right. hope people like poeni7 (12 thumbs) got it.
@yumpladukfoo tks, yum. I just seems we have to realize in this world of shades of gray, that, we have to learn to get along in spite of politics and not because of it. things could be totally different 4 years later. I saw Woody in a dream once and he said he liked the songs with the eagle in them. I guess if we listen to his work we can eventually get what that is. I looked out the trailer door last month and there on the mountainside by the tracks was a bald eagle perched in a pine tree.
Greate song. Reminds me the drive I took as a young lad from Dewar, Ok to Okemah as a young boy for church. What's funny is I didn't even know Guthrie was from Oklahoma and I play guitar. Anyway, Love to all
Atchally Singing Queen I believe most people really do get it... Its just unfortunately both unfashionable and a little scary to take up Mr Guthries cause directly as you and I do. I bug anticitizen corporate types every chance I get. Keep up the good work and consider saving the bitterness for the Coolidges and the Cheneys...
Headbangers67, I used to have this album about 20 yrs ago but can't remember the name, sorry. It was actually a tribute to Guthrie and Leadbelly by a number of big names like John Mellencamp, Emmie Lou Harris and of course the Boss. Lots of great performances.
This song isn't funny or happy at all, guys, it's actually really depressing. This song was written by Woodie Guthrie in 1938 during the Great Depression, and Woodie wrote this song about the worst things about the Great Depression like loosing your loved one to a fever because you wouldn't be able to pay for health insurance or treatments during the Great Depression. I'm ashamed that you people failed to see that this song would probably meant something to some of your grandparents

Greetings from Tokyo Japan Dear fniazi1 You have any idea what you done on Youtube? I ain' got no home... People here in this country have been losing their homes. Don't know why 'cause I don't follow politics. I don't wanna think that's someone else's business... It could happen to you. You made me so fuckin' emotional with this song. Just love it. Loved it because of Bruce, because of the lyrics, because I miss America......
