  • Simply one of the best performances ever. True, Powerful, subtle. Who needs more?

  • I THINK THE LADY BEHIND BRUCE HAS HAD IT--SHE SEEMS LIKE SHE IS SOMEWHERE ELSE--WAKE THE HELL UP LADY

  • @hagblay

Yeah agree with you! But isn´t that his wife Patti Scialfa?

  • hell on all the ones who dont know a good song when they hear it- I think Bruce did a great job on this song--The ending was the thing that caught my ear--It was great. And im not a Springsteen fan--But i love this song. And what the hell has the words got to do with Bruce being rich? He is an entertainer not a social worker-Some jerks just dont get it.

  • Bruce did a great job on Woody Guthrie's song, I ain't go no home.

  • @kevfal no pe

  • Boss is the true heir of Woody Guthrie's spirit!

  • He can do any genre of music. Best ever.

  • Thank you, Woody. Thank you, Bruce. Here's to the uncertain experiment we love: America. We're all scared orphans lookin' for freedom. Let Mark Twain be our pen, let the guitar be the tune to our soul, let the Rockies be our playground, let the us speak softly, and carry a big stick.

  • Epic.

  • " for fucks sake bruce you promised not to do the muppet impersonation at the end"

  • Love this,thanks

  • Woody would of been proud!

  • First Woody, then Pete Seeger, then Arlo Guthrie, then comes Bruce.

    For me.

It is a perfect version from the "Boss"!

    Cheerio from Germany

    R.

  • Thumbs up if you were smart enough to realize the song and video don't match up

  • originally a woodie guthrie tune, but lyrics changed.

  • was hoping it was a clarence frogman cover.. but woody guthrie's good to... i guess

  • @CultureCunt you are a cunt if you have to say i guess guthrie is good. he is one of the most influential song writers of all time

  • Meraviglioso! Awesome! Maravilloso! Merveilleux! Wunderbar ! Prachtig ! 主要翻译! ترجمات رئيسية ! θαυμάσιος! आश्चर्यजनक ! 素晴らしい ! נפלא !

  • It's a Woody Guthrie song-but Bruce, Steve Earl, and a few others are the only stars these days that the media allows us to hear of that ilk.

  • Ain't got no home. Nope. I've got 5. And a yacht in the Mediteranean waiting with a helo pad. Yep, I'm just like my fellow bluecollars. Except for my yacht and 5 houses.

  • ok, woodys version is WAY better.

  • @sunipeacemaker

    ok, fanks fer da info.

  • Bruce is so awesome

  • we always been stripped and cheated. we are the common man/woman/child. like the people Woody Guthrie wrote about, the Oklahoma folks durring the Great Depression who got tractered out by the cats. They catapillared their homes and drove them out. it's okay for the bankers2cheat them; the democants and the repugnantkins gave them white collar anarchy so they could victimize the poor, like it was since ancient Egypt.

    -

Bruce, u did the song right. hope people like poeni7 (12 thumbs) got it.

  • @lepup348u I couldn't have said it better, keep the comments coming bro!!

  • @yumpladukfoo tks, yum. I just seems we have to realize in this world of shades of gray, that, we have to learn to get along in spite of politics and not because of it. things could be totally different 4 years later. I saw Woody in a dream once and he said he liked the songs with the eagle in them. I guess if we listen to his work we can eventually get what that is. I looked out the trailer door last month and there on the mountainside by the tracks was a bald eagle perched in a pine tree.

  • check out my page if you like songs like this. thanks.

  • Greate song. Reminds me the drive I took as a young lad from Dewar, Ok to Okemah as a young boy for church. What's funny is I didn't even know Guthrie was from Oklahoma and I play guitar. Anyway, Love to all

  • wow! ich love it! i love him, he's so nice!!!

  • first time I listen to this song, pure feeling

  • its the truth now ,instead of 100,000 - try 10 millon people now

  • He's so sexyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • A true badass

  • @goldchocobo333 sometimes he's cowboy Pete:)

  • @goldchocobo333: Too many pretenders out there; the Boss walks the walk...

  • where can i find the original ?

  • Atchally Singing Queen I believe most people really do get it... Its just unfortunately both unfashionable and a little scary to take up Mr Guthries cause directly as you and I do. I bug anticitizen corporate types every chance I get. Keep up the good work and consider saving the bitterness for the Coolidges and the Cheneys...

  • Headbangers67, I used to have this album about 20 yrs ago but can't remember the name, sorry. It was actually a tribute to Guthrie and Leadbelly by a number of big names like John Mellencamp, Emmie Lou Harris and of course the Boss. Lots of great performances.

  • thanks for your help, atleast i know now it wasnt of an album of the Boss's, ill keep looking.

  • can someone tell me if this is on an album of bruce's and if so which one ??

  • it's on an album called "folkways: a vision shared." i don't know if it's on any of bruce's albums though.

  • What an awesome version. Totally melted.

  • Perfection!

  • B-e-a-utiful :-) that's one hell of a voice he's got there.

  • This song isn't funny or happy at all, guys, it's actually really depressing. This song was written by Woodie Guthrie in 1938 during the Great Depression, and Woodie wrote this song about the worst things about the Great Depression like loosing your loved one to a fever because you wouldn't be able to pay for health insurance or treatments during the Great Depression. I'm ashamed that you people failed to see that this song would probably meant something to some of your grandparents

  • Reminds me of the story about Dylan going to visit Woody, his hero.. He found him a paupers nursing home. This changed Bob Dylan forever,

  • Bruce, you'll always have a home at my place !!!!

  • What a voice!! Amazing!!

  • I love this

  • great stuf, thanks!

  • tragically, more poignant today than ever...

"there's something about a singing a song that does a sad heart good..."--johnny cash.

"in the shadow of the steeple

by the relief office, i saw my people..."---woody...

  • Love it...

  • Same session as "Vigilante Man?"

  • Powerful performance of a very timeless song.

  • yo,Fniazi1,do ya perchance know where i can find this,or do any of yous know,I mean on a CD or similar,'cos the downloads are all remastered..I mean they sound studio-like,not live.Peace up,N.O.,LA State

  • Sweet Rosie, you're allways pick the right ones, thanks, sweetheart and thanks fniazi1 for posting

  • Great song and an amazing rendition!!! Thanks for posting!!

  • Bruce is the best,congratulations

  • ur right

  • i agree

and when he's humming in the end sounds hella funny

  • 6 children grown and gone and a his wife is dead and gone. And he worked hard all his life. Now it is wide wicked world. If God loves us, why doesn't he take better care of us.

  • man what u talking about, hes class not many rock and roll stars can become as big as him and not get sucked into the traditional rock and roll life style, he never changed hes still the same guy that he was wen he first started out and hes the "good guy" rock and roll star but hes not dorky about it, he also so diverse as well in his music which me personal, i like about him, he so cool, i listen to him every day, he keeps me honest

  • idiot u need to listen up van halen was good for little while, bruce has many many more years and still rocks!van halen lol

  • its not just you...

  • get your rat out

  • Incredible song!

  • Great artist. Great performance!

  • I love his version of this great song.

  • If home is where the heart is...maybe he doesn't have a home primitivelink. Depends on where the soul is to rest too. Beautiful song..enjoyed the post!!

  • What a fantastic version of Woody Guthrie's song. All the more amazing how Springsteen could get into character, as him singing he ain't got a home is kinda wrong, it's false as hell...he's near a billionaire.

so why do I love this version all the same?

    great song, thanks for posting.

  • Good song and a nice performance!

  • Greetings from Tokyo Japan Dear fniazi1 You have any idea what you done on Youtube? I ain' got no home... People here in this country have been losing their homes. Don't know why 'cause I don't follow politics. I don't wanna think that's someone else's business... It could happen to you. You made me so fuckin' emotional with this song. Just love it. Loved it because of Bruce, because of the lyrics, because I miss America......
  • Wow, many thanks, never seen or heard that before.

  • Outstanding! Are you kidding me? The Boss is the best.

  • a woody guthrie classic done by another great muscian

  • bruce did this better than woody

but woody did better this land is your land!

  • Love it!

  • Bruce looks like James Dean doing folk .. Just the best!!! The reason he's called the Boss for me.. Thanks Bruce for all the great tunes.. : )

  • IS THIS HIS SONG? ive never heard it before... its beautiful.. hes is the greatest, period.

  • no, it's a woody guthrie classic

  • Cheers

  • Yep, definitely my inspiration - guilty as charged :-)

Man, you're making my week!!! Thanks a lot!
