I believe this would be the best thing to do. Even though some states would take a hit for the team. But it would only be temporary. But if the economy is on a "short burst of heroine", then perhaps they will drop again soon. But, I can't see that happening. The reason they have risen is because of confidence. But I can't understand why people would be confident in the middle a recession when there are no signs of things picking up soon. So therefore they can't keep rising at this rate.

in Europe social benefits are being cut back fast since the early '90's and since the last few years even faster. No more state welfare from cradle to grave. What's left is a bare minimum of safetynet programs for people who really need it. Welfare does not provide Incentive to perform or to be creative or productive. There are some transfers of wealth that are beneficial to society as a whole, it is just that the devil is in the details. It is abhorrent that it costs $5,000.00 for a delivery when actual services are only rendered for an hour or 2. I forgot to mention that the tenure system undermines incentive to upgrade your teaching skills in favor of stagnation, there should be rewards for updating your teaching credentials. There is rock solid opposition to vouchers as it would undermine public schools while subsidizing private schools creating a two class society. The best I can see happening is a compromise where certain high demand specialty classes rec, vouchers

I believe this would be the best thing to do. Even though some states would take a hit for the team. But it would only be temporary. In the long run it would only benefit the country as a whole once the optimal system is found.

Contradictory to what he is saying, shares seemed to have rose since. I've seen share prices rise gradually since about March of this year. But if the economy is on a "short burst of heroine", then perhaps they will drop again soon. But, I can't see that happening. The reason they have risen is because of confidence. But I can't understand why people would be confident in the middle a recession when there are no signs of things picking up soon. So therefore they can't keep rising at this rate.

Madison was specific in regards to the clause "promote the general welfare", and has nothing to do with the New Deal of FDR and the Great Society of LBJ, nor public health care.

When you see a collapse happen, what do you see? People panic and rush the stores, the supplies run out, when people start to go hungry they turn to violence, the military most likely gets called in.

No capitalist demands public funds. That is a contradiction in terms. If someone demands public funds, they are by definition a statist, fascist, or socialist (all roughly equivalent). It is socialism (government favoritism) that gave the bankers more money than they needed or likely even deserved.

My girlfriend's Mom is a single Mom of 5 kids with 3 DIFFERENT MEN who has been on Welfare, Food Stamps & MediCal since Foreever, she is expecting yet ANOTHER baby from a DIFFERENT MAN. Now it gets to me cause I work hard cannot get affordable Health Insurance & tuition debt & people like her are so USELESS who are not contributing to society in anyway. My Taxes pay her IT GETS ME MAD EVERYTHING IS HANDED TO HER she does nothing to improve her life and she Hits her kids too

in Europe social benefits are being cut back fast since the early '90's and since the last few years even faster. No more state welfare from cradle to grave. What's left is a bare minimum of safetynet programs for people who really need it. Welfare does not provide Incentive to perform or to be creative or productive. It is exactly this lack of initiative, creativity, productiveness that killed the economy in the USSR and the easten Euro countries back in the early '90's

I agree with you, I think the church and others a like should be our welfare system.
Today the system hands out money without guidence for change so those recieving can become the giver later.This is how nonprofit system works and its the only way they can continue providing.
Our system today is by far the worst. It gives the reciever no reason to change so they can provide for them self or to help with the aid of others.
There is no reason at all to continue these government systems.

I get what you are saying, but I still believe that unemployment and welfare are necessary. If you lose your job and are down and out, you need some money to get back on your feet again.

On your point of giving money. The state gives out $1 to the Federal Gov for every 80 cents it receives back.
Not a winning proposition. I live in Ontario and it's been that way here for decades, now we are on the have-not list.
And as imperfect as our medical system is I wouldn't trade it for the US system.

The liberals treat the symptoms. The symptoms are unemployed workers. They create entirements: Unemployment compensation, supplimented housing, food stamps, etc. Rather than doing things to promote PRIVATE industry and creating REAL jobs. California has lost it's tax base, pure and simple. It goes from a plus effect to a minus effect, workers go from paying taxes to drawing unemployment. That's why all of the states are in trouble.
