  • Incredible movie, thank you so much for posting.

    Greetings.

  • I really hope Nolan continues to use Julyan for films in the future. He seems to have abandoned him for Zimmer, who I don't really care for.

There's such depth and atmosphere in Julyan's scores.

  • Best. Remake. Ever.

  • @MJSpiderman7116 what year did the original come out? cause i never knew that this was a remake

  • @markm177 The norwegian movie Insomnia was released in 1997.

Check out the soundtrack by Biosphere, really fits the movie well.

  • @fpmip thanks

  • One of my favorite opening titles sequences ever.

  • it's so powerful in the opening

  • this is the best remake ever done by hollywood no one can disagree!!!!!!

  • @rapist41 I can, I think The Thing(1982) is the greatest remake hollywood's ever made. You probably never seen it, but these are our own opinions

  • @adrianlindsaylohan oh, i forgot about that one i'll restate my statement this is the best 21 century remake ever done by hollywood.john carpenter rules.and fuck the new nightmare on elm street i mean honestly no robert englund

  • @rapist41 THE MOVIE WAS A REMAKE-U DON'T USE THE ORIGINAL ACTORS IN REMAKES

  • I know that...

  • @christm5 - Probably didn't word myself very well. What I meant is that if I were a Hollywood director/producer I wouldn't hesitate to hire Julyan for just about any film, including Inception. I do think Hans is okay though and liked his Inception score.

  • Pacino's best performance ever. Yes, I've seen the Godfather, Scarface, Scene of a Woman etc etc.

  • @mrtacopete Why's that? I really wanna know.

I'm being very genuine here. 'Cause that's a heck of a statement and I want in. Haha.

  • One of the most under-rated films ever

  • @GoldeneyePwner It's significantly rated far below all of Nolan's other work, while I say it's just as good.

  • @AspergianMind Very agreed

  • haha, ok that makes sense. i guess someone could accuse me of knowing way too much about valves.

  • jeez, you guys know way too much about movies

  • @shuttervalve thats because i want to become a director/writer/producer :P

  • If you read the script for this film, you actually find that the opening titles are supposed to be completely different.

  • @AlexTheSubject23 and where did you read the script?

  • Where can i download the soundtracks from?

  • pelicula muy superior a la espectativa de lo comun

  • @fragaboveyou You realise it's a remake? The original film is Norwegian or something. The Chris Nolan version is still brilliant, though, and this score is stunning.

  • probably the only best music in the movie.

  • NUMBER JOHNNY 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Shining has a nice opening scene too. But I'd say this one is even better :)

  • Where are the remaining soundtracks of Insomnia?! This one seems to be the only one on youtube.

I was very surprised by this movie, its really incredible.

  • it is a great story yeah- but movies today? this is one of the movies today

  • the score is awesome, sends chills down your spine!

  • this movie's awesome

  • @Casarzino awesome is an overstatement but its quite entertaining

  • @RockandRoll21395 for me it's better than Inception, although I didn't like that one at all.. seems like everyone loves that movie

  • @Casarzino inception was phenomenal and just re-listen to "Time" by Hans Zimmer from Inception and i'm sure youll change your mind

  • @RockandRoll21395

"Time" is a copy of "Journey to the Line" from "The Thin Red Line"

Nowadays Zimmer is copying himself. Check this.

Or "Watch the world burn" from "The Dark Knight" and "Immolation" from "Angels & Demons".

His best OST, for me, is ofc "The Thin Red Line".

  • @wojt4spes I thought I was the only one who thought that. Thank you for noticing how close the Inceptin and TTRL soundtracks are!

  • @wojt4spes I think you're right. And I agree about The Thin Red Line.

  • I love the opening for this movie, i all way find it weak when a movie has none or don't try in a opening scene

  • a wonderful film!!

  • Nolan should have never, never, never replaced Julyan for the mediocre Zimmer in the Batman films. Never.

  • @EvilRadiatedMonkey,

Julyan is way better than the overrated Zimmer.

  • @thelupoistheman1 Ahh, not overrated just overused. Half the time I wonder why he's composing for half these films and not someone else.

I mean like Inception. It could have been David Julyan's chance to take the spotlight, but Nolan seems to have forgotten the composer who was with him in the first half of his career, in the beginning.

  • @AspergianMind I agree, but you have to remember, it could have been the producer's choice to go with Zimmer (who is brilliant) I would not be too quick to blame it on Nolan

  • @rapperscanttakeahint - Either way, it's a real shame Julyan isn't more well known. I find nearly all of his scores are handled with aplomb and if it were my decision I would have chosen him over Zimmer for Inception, or just about any other film.

  • @rapperscanttakeahint nolan is the producer :P

  • sounds like The Descent score, a great masterpiece.

  • Sounds well like the Eden Lake score

  • 0:51 the timing with the score and the title is amazing

  • good shit
