  • i really enjoyed this vid but am a new-comer to this type of guitar,i take it you cant play chords or bend notes ??

  • @bowbridge113 The chords you can play depend on the tuning you're in...definitely limited compared to regular guitar.

There's a string bend at 1:28, the left-hand pinky pulling the string behind the bar(slide).

  • AWWWE-SOMMME ...!!!!

I just wonder what Steve Vai himself would say to all of this ....???

  • Dude this rocks! I was thinking about buying a lap steel and you just made my decision for me...lol...What brands do you recommend? I would really like to get a 1930-1950s one but wasnt sure if that would be something I could play on consistently? Any advice? Thanks and amazing job on the song

  • @nunozach Thanks!

Older lap steels sound great for more traditional styles, but if you're playing rock, you might want something with a humbucker, like an Asher.

    Good luck!

  • everones has said it already ,just plain dug it

  • that was truley brilliant...

  • Very nice. TY for sharing. You should get some of my fingerslides. The slides the limit.

  • @SingingStringsMusic dude, i remained speechless when i saw this video. it's better than any cover of FTLOG i've seen on guitar. from where do you get those weird-ass guitars?

  • @TheRaubtiermann Thanks for the comment. The guitar I'm playing is a lap steel...I've got several kind of "weird" ones, mostly bought off e-bay.

  • Very nice! (And that's putting it mildly.)

What kind of lap steel are you playing in this video?

  • @TexMcMojo Thank you sir. I don't know who made the steel - I got it years ago off ebay for around 90 bucks, and put DiMarzios, a coil-tap switch, and GraphTech saddles in it...very versatile.

  • Hi Steve, Great playing. Keep it up and have a nice day. See you soon on the Steel Guitar Forum.
