This headphones are very similar in sound compared to the Sennheiser IE6. I prefer the IE6's more because of the laid back sound. Honestly it's just by preference.

The new Apple in-ear headphones are awesome dual-driver type just like Shure SE310 and comparable to intro headphones from Grado. And they sound just like Shure SE210. I haven't compared them with SE310. But they are only $79 in the U.S.A. Apple built an in-ear set of cans that I consider to be a complete steal and they offer very high-fidelity sound.

Nobody stops you from paying hundreds of dollars for Shure In-Ears, but you are throwing your money away and that is my guarantee. Apple is giving you dual driver design, while Shure is scamming you. Just because I haven't heard the SE310 doesn't mean they are better than Apple earphones. I am sure that even if they are better, it's only by a very small margin and not worth the premium.

@smashexpert76 Guitars are not headphones so you are comparing apples and oranges. Apple In-Ear Monitors are true high-fidelity earphones and they offer reference quality sound. They are only $79. Spending more than that is fine, but rest assured that you are throwing your money away. Apple In-Ear earphones compare with Grado headphones. They are pure gold and Apple did an awesome job. They are stealing a lot of customers away from Shure for a good reason. They offer much better value.

shures are hi def phones...but not everybody have the audio experience to really appreciate them...i own a pai pf e3c,a pair of triport bose,and a pair of v-modas. the shure sound is cristal clear,you can diferentiate instruments on your music! the bose sound is just ok,much people preffer their bass sound, but i think the v modas sound better and cost 5 times lessthan boses...

If you can read tech specs the IMPEDANCE of 28 Ohms is @ 1KHz.

These are good headphones,I have the Shure530,Klipsch X10,Gradon GR8 and UE 11...the best value is around the SE 310 as performance does NOT follow the price. Even with the UE11's being KINGS of the in ear class.

The frequency range (MHz) tells you what range of sound the earphones can handle. The Impedance (Ohms) tells you how much battery power it'll take.

Unfortunately, no such measurements can measure sound quality. The only way to determine the quality is to listen to them yourself.

I've got these too. The cable next to the right earphone broke open after 6 months of use. Be careful how you handle them. I've google searched and it seems to be a common problem on SE310.

Shure SE310 are good iems, but are far cry from top of the line models such as SE530 or Ultimate ears TripleFi. Instead of SE310, I recommend Denon ACH751. They simply sound more detailed and tight. If you can get Ultimate Ears SuperFi5Pro for that kind of money, dont hesitate. They blow away even the Shure SE420.

the ue triple fi use the same technology as the custom molds. and really, im not a pro, so i would get the triple fi because your ears never stop growing and you would have to get new ones every few years to accomodate for the growth.

The SE310s use the same armature driver technology as the custom molds, and I guess I better forget about buying the custom molds because in a few years my ears will grow bigger than Ben Stiller's and I can flap them and fly! I was going to buy these, but I just want triple drivered headphones ;) Just for some info, Shure are apparently releasing 4 new headphones in January's CES. (5th-9th) There was this SE115 which was leaked onto Shure's website, but to be removed. Hopefully you like these headphones, since they cost a decent amount of money.

Definitely. £108 isn't much compared to the SE530's, the Westone 3's, the UE triple fi 10 and other headphones. The SE310's are probably the best single dynamic driver headphones out there in the market.

My shures gave out on my the other day :( I've been through 3 pairs (2 of which were free replacements from shure - good customer service) and the latest pair were of the newer range. I really prefer the older ones though.

I just dont like the narrower sound channel, the lack of the ear wax guards and the new pads. I loved the old orange foam pads, much nicer than the slippery black ones.

And at a much shallower level I think the older ones looked cooler :p The one thing i do prefer is the very short cable that lets you use the extension cable of your choice. And lucky they did because my shure one was duff in a week. :|

Enjoy your earphones mates, they will blow away standard earphones. That thin plastic thing in the bag has a small bit of wire at the end which you use to clean the inside of the earphones with. A tip for you though, don't try the 530's or you will be even more amazed and want them instead.
