are the sex scenes real, like are the actors actually doing it? i kinda hope not, because i think anna popplewell is so pretty and hot! i can't imagine her doing that...i don't not like her anymore, but it's kind of surprising to me.

there's a musical adaptation of the play and they just made it look like they were having sex: it's hard to explain how, but Melchior is on top of Wendla and he thrusts his body on her and she moves according to the direction he moves, but their genitals are covered completely.

I know in the musical they're not real but I'm not sure about the play. Since it's a school play I am going to say no.

This is true. It happens in the original play (albeit ambiguously) but was taken out of the musical version.
