@tw1stedj4y this product will be available later this month in retail stores and on the web. Price is not available yet, stay tuned for more information
So, what are the system requirements needed to easily play full screen HD video on extended desktop to a 42 inch TV through this device smoothly without any dropped frames or choppiness?
we expect the product to be in the channel around the end of March, early April. it will be available through a number of both online and brick and mortar retailers.
Sorry folks, at CES so time to update is sporadic. Again, the price will be sub $200 and introduced in March. Resolution is max 1440x1050 or 720p video. It acts like an extended monitor, there is no artifacting. Most HDTV's will stretch to fill the screen and if you run a high res video will down scale to 720p (which looks great). More comments as i get time.
Can you have multiple of these in close proximity? Your video said it wasn't meant to go through walls. So if I wanted to use this as a solution to connect to a ceiling-mounted LCD projector without having to A/V wiring, but had several classrooms near each other with their own extenders, will I suffer from interference problems?
The product is compatible with Mac's and has an approximate distance of 30 feet. It is not meant to go through walls, and is an in-room technology only (this limitation is based on the amount of power the FCC will allow UWB systems to use)
I have often wondered why this type of product hasn't been on more companies radar sooner. Suggestions to consider for future updates...1.) Be transparent, base unit should be small and mountable in wire cave that exist on the back of most TVs. In others word I don't won't to see it. Ditch the blue light. 2.) Power pass-through, most people go a lot headache to get those LCD panel mounted and the last thing they want is power cables dripping from the wall. Seems like a nice product otherwise.
The latency is extremely small and is based on the quality of the wireless connection. Also note that you can run this in either mirror mode, or extended mode just like a second PC Monitor. The product is going to be introduced by a major OEM in March of 2010 so there is no pricing information available right now.
Friend Vicky is pretty hot.

We generally recommend at least a 2.2GHz processor running with a reasonable amount of RAM (at least 2GB).

Hello, how is the audio transported via HDMI? Will it support 5.1 surround?
maltestenzel 2 years ago
HDMI supports audio through the same cable as the video and yes, it supports 5.1 surround.

humbert0acevedo 2 years ago
There's a smalldelay between laptop's monitor and HDTV!!
IT MEANS IT'S NOT USEFULL FOR GAMERS!!!!
mswirr 2 years ago
the delay is less than 2 frames and according to the guys at NVidia it is absolutely okay for games.

When do you expect it to be released?
What are the resolution restrictions?
How does it handle different aspect ratios? Does it stretch the picture?
Can I project my MacBook Pro running a local video on my 1080p TV without low frame rate or artifacting?
Is there noticeable compression artifacting?
