@oasiejiun his doesn't have a fixed rear cog instead it has a free wheel which allows the wheel to move independently from the crank

@bruceybruce101 A freewheel has only one gear and has a part on the rear wheel that allows you to coast and relax when you’re cruising and don’t feel like pedaling. If you pedal backwards you don’t go anywhere.

With a fixed gear, the pedals are constantly moving while you ride. When you pedal forward, the bicycle moves forward; when you pedal backwards, the bicycle moves backwards. If you stop pedaling, the rear wheel will stop rotating and the bike will not continue to move. - strada faq

@bruceybruce101 well on a freewheel you can still pedal backwards but the wheel wont move backwards, but the pedals will move with the wheel if you roll backwards, so he is pedaling backwards with the going pedals so that the bike doesn't stop. i wouldnt know, i got the info from stradacustoms . com, im also just getting into this whole fixie bike thing. but google is always a good place to start
