Aluminum is better than plastic. And many exotics are made from carbon fiber. Just pick an exotic, and look at it's construction and then you might get an idea why they are so pricey. Of course in many cases the name plays a major role, but the name also plays a role in why it's an investment you can enjoy.

The fastest stock Camaro quarter mile time is a 2002 Camaro that Ran 11.8 and the Magazine Fast Ford is who did it, comparing the 2002 Camaro to the 2003 Cobra. The fastest Stock 2010 model Camaro that I've seen so far was 12.8@109mph.
Not to mention, the Camaro can run road courses, while the civic can only run in a straight line.

It doesn't matter what you consider 'stock' to mean. 'Stock' means as it is sold from the showroom, unmodified. What modified civics can do is impressive, but it's not some great mystery as to why. It has nothing to do with technology or performance engineering. The fact is, a civic is very light, and that is the only reason it can be fast. I heard a guy is planning to drop an LSX TT motor in a civic...that thing will be insane. Build an NSX....then you have something drool worthy

@pier456 HP means nothing, gearing etc. is what makes the difference. i know they didnt mention it in this vid, but yeh. just putting taller diff gears will pull bigger numbers on a dyno, but it will be a slug, shorter gears arent as spectacular on the dyno, but give much better accelleration. just my 2 cents.
@2525Jake hp means everything dude... Trap speeds show how powerful a car is... If a coupe with similar power can trap 130++ this hatch should even do better getting upwards of up to 138mph. Quick turbo Honda's usually have a long gearing setup. And like i said before get a better dyno. 400+whp is 400+whp and that Honda is defiantly not 400+whp more like 400+bhp. The Honda in this vid also look like it has short gearing. But the Honda barely spins at all any 400+whp Honda on street will spin.
@pier456 im just going by my own experience, ive seen a 600HP car run a 10.8 with very little wheel spin, and a similar weight car with 400HP run 10.4 with very little wheel spin. if the 600hp car had run shorter gears, he would have had a harder launch with better acceleration and run a much better time, but his dyno numbers would have suffered. i guess it comes down to whats more important to the owner - big numbers on the dyno, or low numbers at the track.
@2525Jake How would that be possible? Theirs a 200hp difference. If both cars had no wheels spin and hooked the 600hp car should win... Which is why i say people need to find a good dyno. But then again trap speeds is more important in measuring power.

A stock c6z traps 125-129mph with an intake tune and a good driver there is no reason the z can't trap 130mph. That z should b making 460-470whp. A bolt on ls3 c6 will be lucky to make 425whp and the z still weighs less than a c6 or c5. There was no way that z was spraying as it would have been murder for that hatch. As a z with a 150 hit, tires, and good driver will touch high 9's low 10's

I think you are mixing up the cars. Because no stock civic is running 12's. You can sell that BS to someone else, because I'm not buying it. The fastest stock Camaro quarter mile time is a 2002 Camaro that Ran 11.8 and the Magazine Fast Ford is who did it, comparing the 2002 Camaro to the 2003 Cobra. The fastest Stock 2010 model Camaro that I've seen so far was 12.8@109mph.
Not to mention, the Camaro can run road courses, while the civic can only run in a straight line.

It has nothing to do with technology or performance engineering. The fact is, a civic is very light, and that is the only reason it can be fast. That would be the funniest ever as its tailigths would start to look like one circle per side in seconds to the soda can driver! I know cause I raced SW (yes the same one) on a highway north of round rock, texas. I was in a modded VR6 Jetta lol. What is the Fastest Civic Honda makes that you can get at the local dealer or used car lot & purchase to date? I think that Honda would get more respect if the HB owners were street racing with S2000s. At least its the only Honda RWD that you can still buy from the Dealer. Is it as fast as ZR1 Stock vs stock. even a SRT8 would give HBs a good run stock vs stock don't you think?

Best part is if the Honda really putting down 420hp to the wheels and more than likely weighs 600lbs less than the Z06 at a minimum, the Z06 is only making 430-460 at the wheels depending on the Dyno.

I'd take the civic spend a little on it then spend the rest on a nicer car. And the GTR isn't more price ranged to the zr1 either. Both cars decked out the 2010's and before GTR's were cheaper then the z06. Add that z07 package etc. and the price of a z06 goes up to almost 100k vs 85k for the GTR. 2012 Gtrsr are a few grand lower.

420whp sorry someone needs to find a better dyno. if that vette only has a intake and that tune (which the predator system doesn't do much really) It is probably making around what? 435whp-440whp? And weighs what 3200lbs? vs 2350ish lbs for hte hatch? hatch should have a much better power to weight.

@pier456 HP means nothing, gearing etc. is what makes the difference. i know they didnt mention it in this vid, but yeh. just putting taller diff gears will pull bigger numbers on a dyno, but it will be a slug, shorter gears arent as spectacular on the dyno, but give much better accelleration. just my 2 cents.

@2525Jake hp means everything dude... Trap speeds show how powerful a car is... If a coupe with similar power can trap 130++ this hatch should even do better getting upwards of up to 138mph. Quick turbo Honda's usually have a long gearing setup. And like i said before get a better dyno. 400+whp is 400+whp and that Honda is defiantly not 400+whp more like 400+bhp. The Honda in this vid also look like it has short gearing. But the Honda barely spins at all any 400+whp Honda on street will spin.

@pier456 im just going by my own experience, ive seen a 600HP car run a 10.8 with very little wheel spin, and a similar weight car with 400HP run 10.4 with very little wheel spin. if the 600hp car had run shorter gears, he would have had a harder launch with better acceleration and run a much better time, but his dyno numbers would have suffered. i guess it comes down to whats more important to the owner - big numbers on the dyno, or low numbers at the track.

@2525Jake How would that be possible? Theirs a 200hp difference. If both cars had no wheels spin and hooked the 600hp car should win... Which is why i say people need to find a good dyno. But then again trap speeds is more important in measuring power.

A stock c6z traps 125-129mph with an intake tune and a good driver there is no reason the z can't trap 130mph. That z should b making 460-470whp. A bolt on ls3 c6 will be lucky to make 425whp and the z still weighs less than a c6 or c5. There was no way that z was spraying as it would have been murder for that hatch. As a z with a 150 hit, tires, and good driver will touch high 9's low 10's
