  • @KarateMastR57 well hell now it makes sense. it's sounds like Stevie but in turbo mode

  • Uaaaaau ! Na boa , fodastico !

  • steve vai can't play the blues, but whatever this is, it's awesome.

  • @EpictheEpicest not trying to be blues

  • @EpictheEpicest Blues isn't Steve Vai's preferred style of playing.

  • this video deserves more views ò_ó

  • At 3:49 the bassist completely pwns Vai. Nothing beats the blues.

  • what are they saying at 4:07-4:20?

  • that's the difefrence between steve vai and malmsteen steve is humble and always pay tributes to legends while malsteen is very arrogant and thinks that he creates the phrygian mode

  • Omg the bassist pulls even more strange faces than Steve

  • @JoePruzhanovLi "The bassist"?? It's fucking Billy Sheehan, man.

  • nice

  • 3:48 Billy Fuckin' Sheehan!

  • Dang, I've been watching this performance for like 8 years and it's still mind-blowing.

  • That's one of his best ones to me... half encouraging half depressing...

  • THAT IS FAKE!!!!!

  • @captainfarktard You're wrong.

  • in the beginning… there's VAI

  • It's like... I don't want to listen, but my ears won't let me say no.

  • OMFG can I please be Steve's guitar?!?! DOUBLE DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I need to hit the cold shower.

  • It doesn't matter who you are or what instrument you play... You just can't beat Billy Sheehan

  • Mr Vai can jam.....This is so cool

  • É incrivel o entrosamento desses dois!!!..Quando eu crecer quero tocar assim!!!...rsrs

  • reminds me of hendrix

  • Cool..

  • hard to believe!!

  • That bass is immortal!

  • 3:25 is like cumming for the first time.

  • Steve Vai sweep picks 2:18!!!!!!!!

  • @MaggaraMarine he actually sweeps quite a lot^^

  • Stevie Ray Vai.

  • Virgil Donati! The man!

  • This riff kinda reminds me of some of Jimmy Page's work...(on steroids)

    love 'em both-

  • Is Steve Vai's hair being blown back by the sheer power of his shredding or is there just simply a fan on the stage? Nevermind, I saw the fan, but still the former is a possibility?

  • @mystaplerisblue Its a fan (which Steve refers to as only piece of gear he could never do a gig without, not counting a guitar)

  • @mystaplerisblue It's likely a little bit of both going on :-/

  • Thank you. I needed help emptying my bowels. This was so amazing, I shit myself.

  • 3 people come from an alternate dimension where this is considered talentless.

    I think Bizzaro lives there.

  • @Wiggimus You're doing the "make a comment about the people who clicked dislike" thing, Wig? I am disappoint. You're above this trollocity. But you were right, this song is mindblowing. Is Steve Vai human?

  • Billy Sheehan !!!!!

  • se oye muy muy muy bajito de volumen...y este gram temazo merece mas volumen xD

  • se oye muy muy muy bajito de volumen

  • I don't remember how many times have I favourited this video

  • Absolute uninterrupted genius and fun.

  • Billy Sheehan + Yamaha attitude x Steve Vai + Ibanez jem7v = AMAZING!!!

  • 3:48 that's the only part of this song I can play..lol

  • 3:53 Steve´s face says : Oh no. Im fuck! xD

  • oh man, great riff

  • thank god for Vai, thanks Steve

  • scuttle buttin', anyone?

  • @FermerMetal yep

  • @FermerMetal I thought the exact same thing when I first heard this song, lol.

  • That was sick, period!

  • its like evo and flo and mojo take on a life of there own speaking every word and phrase and every note perfectly and clearly, never a bum note, even when he's playing a million of them at once, every single fucking note right on the money, with vibrato or whammy or anything he does right on the money, steve vai is a schooled experieced genius (zappa, david lee roth, whitesnake, metropole orchastra, movie soundtracks, guest appearences, grammy awards) sinperlic is the biggest fucking idiot

  • @6l2k0855 obssess mutch..lol

  • @6l2k0855 "vai sounds like what every aspiring guitar player in the world wants to sound like"

    Wrong.

  • holy begeebiss fuckidy fuck fuck fuck shits! textbook VAI!!!!!

  • holy shit!

    fuck!

    this is fucking ORGASMIC!

  • 4:08 what the????

  • who's the bass player?

  • @FrOsTbItEz2 Billy Sheenan

  • Hahaha, That's Vai homage to SRV? so typical...

Yeah, thrown in a gazzilion notes, and some whammy bar tricks to compensate the lack of groove and feel.(go ahead, thumb me down kids...)

Still, For The Love Of God and Liberty are one of my favorites guitar pieces of all time, so, respect anyway...

But what I said is remains true, hahaha

  • @tommytalks77 yeah, i just read somewhere this is supposed to be a tribute to stevie ray. i thought, maybe vai might be interesting this time? but he just starts the song as usual, nothing special. again, this is my personal opinion, but vai sounds more like a colection of electronica songs rather than a guitarist, gitfiddler, string-slinger or whatever you wanna call it. he's like a keyboardist on guitar. where's the groove? where's the expression? where's the emotion? just not on SRV's level.

  • @sinprelic

maybe you should listen to Lotus Feet or For the Love of God.

  • @nolan067 i have heard both and i allow myself to chance that i have listened to steve vai more than you have. i also allow myself to chance that i am a bigger fan of steve vai than you are. in spite of this i still maintain that stevie ray vaughan was (to me, subjectively) a more fulfilled guitarist. perhaps it is the southern growl and the mean tone of stevie ray's guitar that makes me think so. vai sounds to me like a quarter-shredder, quarter-senseless-tapping, and half joe satriani to me.

  • @sinprelic you must be pretty fuckin tone deaf and a simpleton to not see emotion and expression from him... plus who are you to talk... do you play guitar infront of thousands of people every week? yah.. didnt think so... apparently people love what he plays because everyone loves to go and watch him play

  • @superdome65 i'm so sorry but i thought this was a subjective topic? you're already hooked up on the ad hominem approach, and all i did was express steve vai's apathetic playing IN MY OPINION. he makes faces and he bends notes, but i would never call steve vai a genius. genius is a strong word. sure, he is better than me at guitar, but that doesnt make him the best of the best, according to your brief logic.

  • @sinprelic did i ever say best in the world you fuckin sizzle dick? but who are you to talk shit about him huh? how about you grow some balls and make something of yourself and then have shit spouted about you all the fuckin time.. so until you do something about that. you can continue to shut your fucking mouth. dont talk shit about other people who make something of themselves.. actually dont talk shit in general unless they deserve it. like you.. youre a prime example of someone deserves it.

  • @superdome65 if what you spoke was intelligent, then you'd not be able to judge hitler, because he was much greater than you. according to your baby logic, hitler would be better than you. just cuz he's greater. now to borrow your phrase, "who are you to talk shit about him huh? how about you grow some balls and make something of yourself and then have shit spouted about you all the fuckin time.. so until you do something about that. you can continue to shut your fucking mouth."

  • @sinprelic since when the fuck does hitler and steve vai have anything in common? last time i checked hitler doesnt play guitar infront of thousands of people... if youd like to shut me up then go ahead and find me.. then ill drive my fist into the side of your temple and drop you like a bitch.. so.. au revoir you fuckin cum for brains.... and thank you for copying me... atleast you like how i choose my words

  • @superdome65 provide me with you age please. if its under 12, im not replying.

  • @superdome65 Lol your right...but it's funny ''Last time I checked Hitler doesnt play guitar in front of thousands of peope'' that cracked me up :P. You could have said ''The last time I checked Steve Vai didn't murder 6 million jews and started a world war.''

  • @PhilosopherOnWeed yah i know.. because Steve Vai was totally a part of the Axis powers in the 30's-40's.. he was real tight with japan and italy

  • best ever!!! lol at 4:08mn. My favorit guitar player

  • how do you make your guitar talk???

  • @joshmrtn10

try this if you play some music on your phone and place the phone speaker near the first pickup on you electric guitar the sound will come through the amplifier.... similar concept as to how they make their respective instruments "speak"..

    i could be wrong though

  • SRV, R.I.P.

  • Amazing!!! oh man, u watch it and it gives you energy!!

  • scuttle buttin' SRV

  • i was thinking just the same! :D great!

  • This song is actually a tribute to SRV and in the same album there's also a tribute to Frank Zappa, "Frank".

  • 3:58 awesome bass solo.

  • no such thing

  • open your ears and listen?

  • It sounds like SRV because it has a blues chord progression. Look up twelve-bar blues

  • No it sounds like SRV because its dedicated to him and about him. but 12 bar blues is cool too...

  • this song is fucking SEX!!!

  • this one and bad horsie....yea they're just plain nasty!!

  • Yeah! Go Billy!!

NO bassist should be that good lol and don't even get me started on Vai... :D

  • I wonder what they said when they screamed into their pickups.

    That's a cool effect though.

  • i dunno but it reminds me of scuttle buttin by stevie ray vaughn

  • It was as close to a "tribute" to SRV as the Vai-meister could muster. Sorry, just a bitter SRV fan.

  • this song was a tribute to steve ray vaugn by Ste Vai .....check it on wikipaidia!

  • It's a tribute to SRV's Scuttle Buttin'

  • haha better get to it!

  • its hard enough on guitar have fun with bass

  • haha good luck

  • its not so hard technically - whats hard is to fill all the space under your "Steve"just by yourself so he can play lead

  • lol good luck

  • Whats the problem then?

  • so many... many things

  • that run is so good

  • yea, he's almost as good as me

  • I love this tribute to SRV! You can hear Stevie's "Scuttle Buttin'" throughout most of the song. I love this version considering it's done mostly in Vai's style, beautiful job!

  • awsome

  • 5:55

    Epic lulz.

  • yea lol in the brief moment i saw it i reached for my axe to learn it :D

  • Oh man... amazing video love steve vai amazing technique! cmon guys a video like this doesnt deserve such comments.

  • i think the camera man has drunken 2 much xD

  • vai wrote this song in remembrance of Stevie ray vaughan. the greatest guitar player ever!!! :)

  • pinches on a bass with his hands :|

is it a P bass he plays i couldnt see properly.

  • It has a P bass pickup and another pickup, both with their own output..

  • fuck i wanna play like sheehan

  • Billy Sheehan is an incredible bass player

  • holyyyy fuck! they put on an amazing show!

  • hey does anyone know what size of strings he is using???

  • im not sure if hes changed since then but i have this dvd and on the Bonus footage

hes using 9.gauge and supposedly he has one with 7 Gauge lol but i think it was joke I've never Player nor seen 7 gauge strings

  • i can't think of anybody that is a better fret board tapper than steve vai. absolutley amazing!!!!

  • Guthrie Govan,Greg Howe,Kiko Loureiro the list goes on

    but its not about competition

when it comes to music there is no point arguing who is better then who

but when it comes to technique thats a different story

  • I agree with you kotzen081...

But I love Steve Vai's tapping more than anyone elses...

I think it's because his tapping sounds more beautiful, or more melodic to me.

  • its not really his tapping you like

    its his Musical Sensibilities

thats what makes any other really good Player different from each other

Technique is one thing but how one can use it is another

honestly imo Vai,Petrucci and Satch aren't that Technical at all any Intermediate player could do the stuff they do but what makes them them is their Musical Sensibility

not ever one can do that

music is not Competition Technique is Competition..Music is an art form

thus why those 3 are so great

  • I understand what you mean, but when you say that Vai and Satch dont have that much technique, i disagree.

Satch taught Vai and Kirk Hammett from Metallica, both renowned for technical precision. Vai is also regarded as one of the gods of guitaring technique. But yes, they all put more soul into their music (especially vai, watch his face lol) than most can understand
