If Hollywood can make a million movies about JFK and a thousand remakes of Friday The 13th.....why can't they make another film about the icons of Rock & Roll?
I think they should make an ACCURATE movie of the Winter Dance Party Tour. They should use actors that actually LOOK remotely like the real people (remember La Bamba, that guy doesn't look anything like Ritchie Vanlens), and it should be based ENTIRELY on the memories of the people who were there, no made up crap! It deserves a movie, it was one of the greatest tragedies in music (except for that time 100 people died at a Great White concert pyrotechnics accident, everyone forgets about that).
@hopop313 I absolutely agree with you 100% percent. It was considered Rock and Roll's biggest loss at the time, if not still today. Rock and Roll did survive but also grew and changed from those days of infancy. A new film about the three icons of R&R would be a great idea. In fact I would title it,"Winter Dance Party Tour" or "The Day The Music Died". And I believe Don Mclean's song "American Pie" should be integrated into the film, because it told a story so brilliantly from his perspective.
@pedalpunk57 not a bad Idea...Get someone who actually looks like the entertainers(if they have to lip sink, so be it) and tell the story right.....(so that it jives with true facts...)
Freaking incredible. Now, THIS is the STUFF!! Everyone goes on and on about Ritchie Valens (sp?), he even got his own dang movie. THE BIG BOPPER DIED ON THAT PLANE TOO, MAN!! Someone else did too, but...the name escapes me at the moment. Did I mention that I was a dumbass?
@eclipsespilce Yes, in fact the only one of whom I now refer to as "The Big Three", The Big Bopper hasn't had a film made about him yet. He was just as popuar as Holly and Valens were and deserves his recognition as well...WHERE'S HIS MOVIE? ......."Chantily Lace".....The Untold True Story Of J.P Richardson (The Big Bopper).
@iJoshsubscribed I'm 13 and I love The Big Bopper's music ♥ My dad was born in the 50's and I was telling him today how great the music of his generation was compared to the "music" (if you would call it that) kids listen to these days, and he wholeheartedly agreed.
love this stuff my mom grew up on this and she is still to this day the best twister at age 61 YIKES she will probaly give me heck for releaving her age but whatever she can twist like no tomorrow I wish I could dance as good as she does

The Big Bopper Junior looks and sounds so much like his Dad, that on some songs you can't tell the difference.
