  • Everyone who watching this video, do you think that the new Rio has an unfashionable image, according to a monthly car magazine it is.

  • Largest & Safest supermini feels really refined and smooth to drive (yes I have one and love it)

Plenty of head/legroom for me at 5'10".

  • Great video thanks, I personally think the car looks great. What spec was this, '2' or the '3'?

  • @richardnixon1990

Much appreciated - it was the '2'.

  • SORRY BUT MY OPINION IS THAT THE NEW YARIS IS MORE ...CAR!!

  • UGLY!!

  • do the rear seats fold flat?

  • @tacv They do although the seat backs fold forward to rest on the seat bases so the surface isn't perfectly flat...

  • Some seat time at the dealer is still in order though to know for sure. Thanks again!

  • the 1.25 petrol has 4 cylinders, not 3

  • @Rubenlovescars You are correct, that should have been edited out. The 999cc engine in the new Picanto has three cylinders.

  • Was that the lowest seat position? I'm 6'4" and wondering if I will fit...

  • @ericj305 It wasn't set at the lowest position. I'd visit a dealership to try -note also that the pedals are offset relative to the seat.

  • @motovieweditor Will do. This offset pedal issue definitely has me concerned, so I'll take a look-see. And thanks for the quick response.

  • @ericj305 Only noticed the pedal issue after having driven the Rio for ten minutes and the C-pillar is intrusive for rear passengers exiting. I'm waiting to test the 1.1 diesel that I suspect may perform better in terms of ride (than the 1.4 petrol tested) with added mass over the front axle. Some manufacturers don't always get the conversion right from left-hand drive to right - the Alfa Guilietta has no foot rest!

  • @ericj305

Sat in the Rio with the lowest driver's seat position - think you'd struggle in the back and front. Both windscreens are gently raked so the roofline slopes down to meet. Inside, the ceiling lining is concave so that there is less headroom towards the outside i.e by the windows.

  • @motovieweditor Thanks for the follow-up! The headroom situation is disappointing as I was hoping to squeeze more out of my budget by squeezing into one of these small econo-hatches. Maybe NOT fitting is for the best though, because us(not me) yanks stubbornly love our SUV'S, pick-ups, elevated trucks, and basically anything that isn't a small econo-hatch, so I'd rather not be vaporized by the undercarriage of a 3-ton truck in case of an accident...or at least not scalped by the vanity mirror.
