Dr. Prakash provides an excellent overview of Marxist literary theory, focusing on Marx's concepts of base and superstructure. He also makes a fantastic argument about the evolution of literary realism toward magic realism as the best way to understand the invisible connection between the tangible, superficial aspects of reality in relation to the larger, more abstract conception of the structures in place. Concise and brilliant--well worth the listen!
