@CLRubyHypatia: they are 1970s technology, and they are relatively flimsy, unsafe spacecraft. They are expensive to fly, at around $500 million per launch. they are not very flexible; it is incredibly expensive to launch for a small payload as compared to expendable rockets.
the Exciting fact is b4 the sun dies Andromeda 2 times larger than our Milky way will collide with our Milky way , the night sky would be spectacular with us watching our neighbour galaxy speeding towards us. the possibility of sun colliding with any stars is unlikely but there is a sparce possibility that our star could be thrown away like a slingshot into the void or gravity differences causing pole-shifts or else; who knows but its 4 million years away
@sushanalone: Andromeda is about 2.5-2.6 million light-years distant, and when it collides with us that will be about 4.5 billion years from now. There is uncertainty in the time; we know it approaches, but we have not had enough time to measure the amount of relative velocity across the line between us.
@puncheex i agree but i saw some 2010 documentaries where scientists mentioned that the prediction is now more in favor of a collision than they were from the observations made in late 20 th century after several successful launch of the next generation of space telescopes, and yes i agree about the figures and the fact that the galaxies might just miss each other . its a tough prediction to make for the scientists.
Heres what i conculded. @otaibinm Tell me why can you discard your faith when you are in Bahrain? Why is it that you can do things in Barhain that you can't do any where else? I used to ask the Good Muslim Military guys that were drunk and fucking Russian hookers why they could do that and they said God could not see them in Bahrain so why is your faith jurisdictional?
@yourmomdidsayyourean LOL my faith is not jurisdictional!! some drunk folks who said that God can't see them in Bahrain don't speak for all muslims!! and by the way, muslims are just humans, they sin!! and God is forgiving :) God told us that He forgive if people truly committed to not go back to wrong doing..
@Atheist603 The Bible says God is Love. He loves every creation He's made. He is a moving God who inspires us to do good & help others. He's just that simple & created man fully grown! Since He could not keep man bound to the laws given to Moses, He decided to streamline His laws by sending Jesus to usher in His law of Love! Jesus is the only way to receive God's Love! He will make peace with you if you receive Jesus His Son's Words which offer eternal life when believed!
@Atheist603 God is defined as the super intelligent being, that has power over everything but nothing has power over Him. Everything revolves around Him. He is the creator, the One of His type(thats why He is hard to imagine). He has no beginning, and knows no End. Its Him, Who keeps that laws of nature functional, and existence and non-existence is His Will.
@artistdigital and how do you know that? do you have evidence for such thing? or it's nothing but a product of human imagination lol seriously listen to urself, no such thing have ever been proven, there's not even a slightess evidence for such thing,..people just think that a thing like that might exist, but it's nothing but wishful thinking...lol
@artistdigital well, if voodoo is proven,..then that proves that voodoo exists, which really doesn't,..nobody has ever shown to have magical powers,..it could be something natural they use, but not really nothing supernatural. there's more evidence for voodoo, ufo's, and many other mythical things than the evidence for the existance of god or gods. plus when you say god which god are u talking about because if u ask 2 people today to define god, they most likely define 2 diff things
@Atheist603 Don't wait for others to tell you, what exists and what not!! :)
There is a lot out there. Take my word on it. Many things are to be witnessed, and then established personally! :)
I find your study of the concept of God in major religious scriptures to be a bit weak! All scriptures believe in the existence on One God, even Vodoo, but its the believers that believe in different things!! We live in a world full of wonders. Science is just on perspective!!
@artistdigital "I find your study of the concept of God in major religious scriptures to be a bit weak! All scriptures believe in the existence on One God, even Vodoo, but its the believers that believe in different things!!" you know that i was born and raised a christian? my dad is a minister, and my whole family is so religious. and also if you say the believers believe in the same god? Well how do you kno if everybody believe in the same god if everybody is talking about 2 opposit things?
@Atheist603 Third party influence on religions! eg Christians believe that Jesus(pbuh) claimed divinity which he didn't. Christians believe that Jesus(pbuh) is, literally, the son of God, which Bible doesn't support! Its not what Jesus(pbuh) preached! Its Paulism!! I can prove my point from Bible, that there is only One God and Jesus was His messenger to the Jews, not Gentiles! :)
ur not proving that Jesus was the messanger from one god or w/e ur asserting that Jesus was a messenger from god,..you haven't demostrate it. Also what about the dead gods. i mean every part of the world had different gods. plus if god is all powerful and created us all y does he need messengers who come and give us conflicted messages? i mean what Jesus said is totally different from what mohamed said, budhah, Krishna, Also y aren't u saying anything about the dead gods Zeus, appolo etc
@Atheist603 Its far too complicated than just scratching the surface!! :) A little knowledge makes you an Atheist but complete knowledge makes you a believer!!
There are beings which exist, all around us eg make an idol, extend some offerings, worship it and ask it to show u ways of worshiping it!! It would respond! It won't be the idol, it won't be some God either, It would be the ancient enemy of humanity!! :) There are forces around us, that don't want us to approach God!!
we live in the nature world where science try to explain what manifasts in this world. well you can bring up you claims and if it's reputable and can be tasted then it'll be real, but for thousand of years nobody has shown to have such powers. Religions have to change and evolve in order to stay alive, those that don't evolve the actually end up dead. today christianity is totally diff from christians from 100 yrs ago, y cuz christianity have to change in order to b relevent to pplz
@Atheist603 Science cannot believe in the existence of something, that it can't prove, even if they observe it! Its just like the legal system, where a murderer may get away even many know that he/she is a murder. Its just the system that prevents us from establishing such things! As we personally aren't any court of law etc, so we can try, not to allow the loopholes in a system to interact with our personal experiences! Try "Self seen, needs no evidence". Its the best!!!
@Atheist603 "I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgement is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me."
@artistdigital quoting the bible isn't doing any proving because the bible is just an other book. i mean most of religion that ever existed, which is over thousand have had holy books,...and they all contradict each others, and some contradict themselves. i mean quoting the bible is like me quoting a spiderman's comic book, or I can say "what does god need with a starship" captain Kirk. well the question I can ask you,..how do you kno that the bible is right? becuz it said so?
@Atheist603 Youtube "The Lost Gospels". Its a BBC documentary! When you dive in details you would discover some good relation between many of the scriptures!
There are two sources of Scriptures. i) Divine ii) Evil
Divine one is from God, and the Evil one is from Satan!
In Vodoo they believe in One God but they worship it through spirits! Now they do things that are evil and anything evil can't be from God, so, its a deviation!
Bible isn't a comic book, although Altered. In OT, u would find..
you're not getting my point,..yes gospels have some relationship between them or w/e,..but what make them true? voodoo is one of many religions that have existed. voodoo actually believe in Ancestors' spirits. not Satan, it's just when the White europeans went to African countries and wanted to convert them, so they made it look evil. what about the other thousand of religions? some have have gone dead and other such as Islam who claim somthing else, and other fairytales of afterlife?
First you have to understand the "Occult". So, spirits of ancestors ask them to drink blood, or worship over dead bodies or offer the bodies of their living children to be their vessels?? Yes, their are spirits for whom the gates of "Barzakh" are closed, but they join the army of Darkness to gain strength and their strength increases by inhumane rituals but their strength is "Satan"! :)
@Atheist603 ...you would find some references to it! In the Bible you would find reference to Muhammad(pubh), very explicit and in the Quran you would find that Jesus(pbuh) and Moses(pbuh) were messengers from God. In Hindu Vedas, you would find that idol worship is forbidden, and that their is only one God! You would find the concept of God in Judaism and Islam in Vedas and explicit references to Muhammad, and the chain goes on!!
yes,..muslims and christians are Abrahimic religions,..but what about the other religions that came thousand years before the bible? see,..the whole religion depends on where you live,...and if the god is true,..the one who created the universe, the one the each an on of u pray to,..the one who supposedly can communicate with each and everyone of you why does he need a messanger? why can't he just tell u personally in some sort of vision. and tell you consistant message, notn books
@Atheist603 :) The message of all the religion that were from God, has been that "There is no God but God" but the laws kept on changing! Long before Bible the religion of God was present! While I was studying Vedas, it made me think that whether it was revealed to some messengers of God!! It suggests so!!
If God reveals himself and tells everyone, through miracles, to follow him, than why the FREE WILL?? Its not difficult for Him to force us to submit to Him by taking away our free will!!
@artistdigital noooo,..he wouldn't hurt him if he just say i'm here and i'm real, not some mental conscept of a non existance transcended non-sense. and miracles don't happen. give me an example of a miracle.
@Atheist603 Miracles do happen! All you have to do is to search for them! I'm Sufi Muslim! My parents are Mashaikh of Chisti-Qadri Order! I see miracles on daily basis. There is a law of God. God doesn't interact directly, with everyone! Would carry on with this discussion but later!
Actually, every interpretation may not be the teaching of Jesus(pbuh). Someone may come up with Gothic interpretation but that won't be the message of Jesus(pbuh). The message is there!
@Atheist603 This life is a test and we are free to choose for ourselves!! We have be given guidance but many are too lazy to seek! "Seek and You Shall Find It" :)
@artistdigital it so absurd to say the creator all all these billions and billions of gallaxies, blackholes which took billions of years to form, created the earth 10 billions years after creating the universe, then slowly created this specie (human) for over 4 billion years so that he can send his only son to go die for them so save them from some spiritual nonsense called sin. lol i mean really doesn't that sound so riduculous? he also created his enemy idk really christianity is so absurd!
@Atheist603 "Dying for sins" theory is a myth! Its not in the teachings of Jesus(pbuh). Jesus(pbuh) says "Keep the commandments"! What commandment?? To die on the cross for sins... :) Its Paulism!!
@artistdigital listen,..it's ur interpretation,..every christian have their own interpretation of Jesus and ur religion, that's y we have like a million different christian denominations,.and sects they all disagree on all those differences, and the god or Jesus that you all need to straighten things out is nowhere to be seen,..everybody see and talk to him in their head they way they want, all think they're right. so that says alot, it makes it look more like jesus is imaginary
Wow isn't this a little before Muhammad was born? The first wrought iron used by mankind during prehistory came from meteorites. The smelting of iron in bloomeries began in the second millennium BC. Artifacts from smelted iron occur in India from 18001200 BC, and in the Levant from about 1500 BC, makes it a little hard to "predict" since it was established a long established fact.
@yourmomdidsayyourean : I'll tell you something honest, I thought outside the Quran a number of times but never found anything to contradict science!! in fact, I am truly amazed at how the Quran described numerous scientific facts!
Again wrong interpretation, the passage clearly said "all (celestial bodies) swim along", that's true!! every celestial body has an orbit, the sun & earth each has an orbit on which they "swim". the passage didn't imply that the earth is drawing the sun in its orbit..
As for Iron, you really got carried away, I was refering to origins of Iron, NOT when man first discovered/used it.
God said the Quran: "We sent down Iron, in which (material for) mighty war, as well as many benefits for mankind"
I am talking about the origin of iron on early earth, i.e. the earth iron core, it's now an established scientific fact the Iron was given to earth after being hit by another body..
"all (celestial bodies) swim along" and any other passage u might think describe nature's workings isn't science (there's no explanation, no facts). any child could come up with that just by watching the night sky. noone knew any better when these passages were written.
any passage in any bible can be interpreted to mean anything you want to, just retrofit ur idea to the poem in question!
why stick to vague, lyrical metaphors if u can get all the real knowledge with modern science?
@otaibinm What happens to you if you decide you no longer want to be Muslim?
Your religion fears you thinking out side of the Quran so much that it requires you to be put to death for renouncing it...so excuse me if I think your beliefs are childish.
What's happening to the kinetic energy of two interacting galaxies, if almost no objects collide? Is the interstellar gas enough to "break" them? (we are talking of timespans of 1000 million years)
@superdau: Some of it goes into the gas between the stars, heating it up and compressing it as he describes, causing massive star births within the galaxies. Find a picture of the cartwheel galaxy; it is the site of two galaxies colliding, and one shows massive star creation going on all around its outer edge (hence the cartwheel). The gas warming friction causes enough braking force to allow the two galaxies to slowly merge together.
It is really improbable that two objects will hit each other. But I don't know how it's about gravity of other objects passing far away. They could distort orbits of planets and make them uninhabitable. Or maybe asteroids would be knocked out of their orbit, which than could hit the planet with life on it.
@superdau: More likely whole solar systems will be treated as single objects. There could well be some orbit distortion, particularly if a star is greatly accelerated. Look at it this way: if our sun were a ball 1000 feet across in LA, then the closest major star, alpha centauri, would be a similar sized sphere in New York. That is an idea about how sparse our neighborhood is.

@Atheist603 There is a lot unproven! At least, practice some Vodoo and establish its existence, then existence of God won't be such a big problem.
artistdigital 1 year ago
@artistdigital well, if voodoo is proven,..then that proves that voodoo exists, which really doesn't,..nobody has ever shown to have magical powers,..it could be something natural they use, but not really nothing supernatural. there's more evidence for voodoo, ufo's, and many other mythical things than the evidence for the existance of god or gods. plus when you say god which god are u talking about because if u ask 2 people today to define god, they most likely define 2 diff things
Atheist603 1 year ago
@Atheist603 Don't wait for others to tell you, what exists and what not!! :)
There is a lot out there. Take my word on it. Many things are to be witnessed, and then established personally! :)
I find your study of the concept of God in major religious scriptures to be a bit weak! All scriptures believe in the existence on One God, even Vodoo, but its the believers that believe in different things!! We live in a world full of wonders. Science is just on perspective!!
artistdigital 1 year ago
@artistdigital "I find your study of the concept of God in major religious scriptures to be a bit weak! All scriptures believe in the existence on One God, even Vodoo, but its the believers that believe in different things!!" you know that i was born and raised a christian? my dad is a minister, and my whole family is so religious. and also if you say the believers believe in the same god? Well how do you kno if everybody believe in the same god if everybody is talking about 2 opposit things?
Atheist603 1 year ago
@Atheist603 Third party influence on religions! eg Christians believe that Jesus(pbuh) claimed divinity which he didn't. Christians believe that Jesus(pbuh) is, literally, the son of God, which Bible doesn't support! Its not what Jesus(pbuh) preached! Its Paulism!! I can prove my point from Bible, that there is only One God and Jesus was His messenger to the Jews, not Gentiles! :)
artistdigital 1 year ago
ur not proving that Jesus was the messanger from one god or w/e ur asserting that Jesus was a messenger from god,..you haven't demostrate it.
Atheist603 1 year ago
@Atheist603 Its far too complicated than just scratching the surface!! :) A little knowledge makes you an Atheist but complete knowledge makes you a believer!!
There are beings which exist, all around us eg make an idol, extend some offerings, worship it and ask it to show u ways of worshiping it!! It would respond! It won't be the idol, it won't be some God either, It would be the ancient enemy of humanity!! :) There are forces around us, that don't want us to approach God!!
artistdigital 1 year ago
we live in the nature world where science try to explain what manifasts in this world. well you can bring up you claims and if it's reputable and can be tasted then it'll be real, but for thousand of years nobody has shown to have such powers. Religions have to change and evolve in order to stay alive, those that don't evolve the actually end up dead. today christianity is totally diff from christians from 100 yrs ago, y cuz christianity have to change in order to b relevent to pplz
Atheist603 1 year ago

[The Bible, John 5:30]
"… and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me."
[The Bible, John 14:24]

@artistdigital quoting the bible isn't doing any proving because the bible is just an other book. i mean most of religion that ever existed, which is over thousand have had holy books,...and they all contradict each others, and some contradict themselves. i mean quoting the bible is like me quoting a spiderman's comic book, or I can say "what does god need with a starship" captain Kirk. well the question I can ask you,..how do you kno that the bible is right? becuz it said so?
Atheist603 1 year ago
@Atheist603 Youtube "The Lost Gospels". Its a BBC documentary! When you dive in details you would discover some good relation between many of the scriptures!
There are two sources of Scriptures. i) Divine ii) Evil
Divine one is from God, and the Evil one is from Satan!
In Vodoo they believe in One God but they worship it through spirits! Now they do things that are evil and anything evil can't be from God, so, its a deviation!
Bible isn't a comic book, although Altered. In OT, u would find..
artistdigital 1 year ago
you're not getting my point,..yes gospels have some relationship between them or w/e,..but what make them true? voodoo is one of many religions that have existed. voodoo actually believe in Ancestors' spirits. not Satan, it's just when the White europeans went to African countries and wanted to convert them, so they made it look evil. what about the other thousand of religions? some have have gone dead and other such as Islam who claim somthing else, and other fairytales of afterlife?
Atheist603 1 year ago
@Atheist603 "Ancestor Worship" :) lol!
Beside spirits there is even more!
artistdigital 1 year ago
@Atheist603 ...you would find some references to it! In the Bible you would find reference to Muhammad(pubh), very explicit and in the Quran you would find that Jesus(pbuh) and Moses(pbuh) were messengers from God. In Hindu Vedas, you would find that idol worship is forbidden, and that their is only one God! You would find the concept of God in Judaism and Islam in Vedas and explicit references to Muhammad, and the chain goes on!!
artistdigital 1 year ago
yes,..muslims and christians are Abrahimic religions,..but what about the other religions that came thousand years before the bible? see,..the whole religion depends on where you live,...and if the god is true,..the one who created the universe, the one the each an on of u pray to,..the one who supposedly can communicate with each and everyone of you why does he need a messanger? why can't he just tell u personally in some sort of vision. and tell you consistant message, notn books
Atheist603 1 year ago
@Atheist603 :) The message of all the religion that were from God, has been that "There is no God but God" but the laws kept on changing! Long before Bible the religion of God was present! While I was studying Vedas, it made me think that whether it was revealed to some messengers of God!! It suggests so!!
If God reveals himself and tells everyone, through miracles, to follow him, than why the FREE WILL?? Its not difficult for Him to force us to submit to Him by taking away our free will!!
artistdigital 1 year ago
@artistdigital noooo,..he wouldn't hurt him if he just say i'm here and i'm real, not some mental conscept of a non existance transcended non-sense. and miracles don't happen. give me an example of a miracle.
Atheist603 1 year ago
@Atheist603 Miracles do happen! All you have to do is to search for them! I'm Sufi Muslim! My parents are Mashaikh of Chisti-Qadri Order! I see miracles on daily basis. There is a law of God. God doesn't interact directly, with everyone! Would carry on with this discussion but later!
Actually, every interpretation may not be the teaching of Jesus(pbuh). Someone may come up with Gothic interpretation but that won't be the message of Jesus(pbuh). The message is there!
artistdigital 1 year ago
@artistdigital when you come back let me ask you,..do you accept Evolution?
Atheist603 1 year ago
@artistdigital Its called choice. He won't force you.
Otherwise that contradicts the whole free will thing.
Cloyde100 3 months ago

Atheist603 1 year ago
@Atheist603 "Dying for sins" theory is a myth! Its not in the teachings of Jesus(pbuh). Jesus(pbuh) says "Keep the commandments"! What commandment?? To die on the cross for sins... :) Its Paulism!!
artistdigital 1 year ago

Artifacts from smelted iron occur in India from 18001200 BC, and in the Levant from about 1500 BC, makes it a little hard to "predict" since it was established a long established fact.
yourmomdidsayyourean 2 years ago
@yourmomdidsayyourean : I'll tell you something honest, I thought outside the Quran a number of times but never found anything to contradict science!! in fact, I am truly amazed at how the Quran described numerous scientific facts!
otaibinm 2 years ago
Again wrong interpretation, the passage clearly said "all (celestial bodies) swim along", that's true!! every celestial body has an orbit, the sun & earth each has an orbit on which they "swim". the passage didn't imply that the earth is drawing the sun in its orbit..
otaibinm 2 years ago
As for Iron, you really got carried away, I was refering to origins of Iron, NOT when man first discovered/used it.
God said the Quran: "We sent down Iron, in which (material for) mighty war, as well as many benefits for mankind"
I am talking about the origin of iron on early earth, i.e. the earth iron core, it's now an established scientific fact the Iron was given to earth after being hit by another body..
otaibinm 2 years ago
@otaibinm

(we are talking of timespans of 1000 million years)
superdau 2 years ago
@superdau: Some of it goes into the gas between the stars, heating it up and compressing it as he describes, causing massive star births within the galaxies. Find a picture of the cartwheel galaxy; it is the site of two galaxies colliding, and one shows massive star creation going on all around its outer edge (hence the cartwheel). The gas warming friction causes enough braking force to allow the two galaxies to slowly merge together.

It is really improbable that two objects will hit each other. But I don't know how it's about gravity of other objects passing far away. They could distort orbits of planets and make them uninhabitable. Or maybe asteroids would be knocked out of their orbit, which than could hit the planet with life on it.
superdau 2 years ago
@superdau: More likely whole solar systems will be treated as single objects. There could well be some orbit distortion, particularly if a star is greatly accelerated. Look at it this way: if our sun were a ball 1000 feet across in LA, then the closest major star, alpha centauri, would be a similar sized sphere in New York. That is an idea about how sparse our neighborhood is.
