@Yoganao Interesting. Mabye he re-uses the rifle cardriges. Ammo costs money, and they're poor. He gets angry when he misses with that first shot, but he doesn't shoot a second time. What's likelier is that he reuses the same cardrige to increase the potential for better accuracy, the same round with the same rifle, it apparently makes a difference; especially with bolt action rifles. ...Or maybe he was just poaching, but is Texas really that strict?

@JacksInn It's because he's poor. The whole point of that scene was to show you how poor he was. It's cheaper to refill your own shells than buy new ones

Atonement was really good but I didn't feel much for the couple in that story. No Country For Old Men is a masterpiece and original and teh one film from last year destined to become a classic.

Let's start with No Country - an instant American classic - flawless from start to finish, an astounding achievement.

Then there's the book Atonement - it made sure I will never see the movie.

I've read The Three Musketeers and The Grapes of Wrath - and Atonement is one of the most corrupt pieces of garbage ever to be published in the history of mankind - if you're out there, people, watch No Country and get blown away - and avoid Atonement at all cost.
