I love that they got a beautiful person to play Anne. I actually believe, in real life, she was the most pretty of all his wives. It's just because Henry disliked their first encounter is she portrayed to many as ugly. From what I've read about her she was really kind and liked by everyone. She probably would of been the best of his wives if she was given the opportunity.

This is quite inaccurate in portraying Anne of Cleves...it is said she was so naive she actualy believed she could get pregnant just by getting kissed, while here she is quite aware, and she hides her despair at being rejected by Henry rather than being ignorant of it.

@katelyn100 - The real Anne of Cleves probably looked nothign like Joss Stone, but all the same we dont really know what she really looked like. But in the end it was just Henry's own taste and a combination of her German dresses and her German manners, which were different from English ones.

@katelyn100 well of course Joss Stone doesn't look like a horse. She isn't the actual Anna von Cleves. This is a cable drama. However, as there are no exact likenesses of the woman anywhere to be found other than what has already been put forth as Anne of Cleves, there is no way for anyone in the 21st century to ascertain what her looks were. She may have very well looked like a horse in the face.

But she doesn't sound like she's talking english with a german accent. And her german sometimes sounds rather dutch to me, making it hard to understand...but fair play to her, she only learned it for the role only and does an ok job, otherwise she plays it very well!

Apparently, according to various historical bits and pieces, Henry found that Anne of Cleeves was to - voluptuous for his tastes - she had a fuller figure than her English counterparts. Also, she was supposed to have smelt a little, - but she was gently told how fussy Henry was re cleanliness and that changed - bascially ,Henry just didnt fancy her. Later in life, at Mary's coronation, Anne is reproted as being quiet a large lady then. However - Henry wasnt what you would a catch at this time

Henry didn't like Anne of Cleves because he was disgusted by her appearance, and vice versa. Henry was well into his 40s when he married Anne, and very fat :P I'm disappointed they didn't include Henry's famous line, "I like her not!"

I used to hate joss stone, from her music, to her fake american accent when she is welsh!

But god, I adored her in the tudors, she is already my second fave queen next to Anne, she plays Anne of Cleves with real honesty and beauty.....all though, she is hardly ugly, I think she looked radiant. Im loving her character. bring on season 4!

I just like her performance and she does a quite good job when speaking German even though one can hear that she is not a native speaker. First I wondered why not taking a German actor but she is excellent.

For her first acting gig, JS is very, very good! There is something very natural to her acting and she seems rather comfortable in her costumes.

My heart is breaking for Princess Mary. She is so fearful and yet so hopeful that this guy is the husband for her. SB is amazingly good in this scene.
