Thanks, they are not fully lit, but it's getting close. 1 thing I noted was that if in this configuration and there's no load, sometimes (not all the time depending on whats around it) the circuit can consume 200mA plus and smoke the transistor. I popped 1 the other day and it started smoking. :) If I load it down it consumes less power, from the psu that is. I'm now using a strip of foil tape wrapped around the transistor, but if I put my fingers near it it starts to heat up.
I was reading about Alfred M. Hubbards gadjet -- yes standing waves -- using gold section ratios. Makes sense.
