athlete - but nowhere the aesthetic basketball artist that MJ was. People wanted to have MJ s kicks just to play like him, nobody imitates brons game, cos its brutal and nice but ugly. who wants to just charge at the rim and dunk it the same way all the time- when mj used to give us this kind of artistry and creativity. everytime he went to the ring you d see something different something that would just blow your mind.
MJ was nice off of two feet AND one foot. he could free throw it off one, or dunk or hang like this off of two. Lebrons the best off of one foot, but he cant elevate off two for some reason, and thats why his inside game isnt so nice, and his post up and turn around jumpers look short- he quick releases it rather than hangs. i havent seen lebron just turn and dunk on someone off two feet that nice, the way jordan did on ewing off of two , or on zo. he always needs a run up. Lebrons an amazing
Man. I love that even though it looked like Cliff Levingston was going to finish the play after the no look pass. When he passed at the last minute back to MJ...cuz he didn't know what the f*ck to do...MJ didn't freeze up and jack up a prayer like Lebron or D Wade would. He attacked so strong and I guess the game was in slow motion for him at this point because he definitely made the decision to switch to the left in mid-air.
@hookmeup To take off for a dunk from the bottom of the free throw circle is pretty physically impossible for most human beings. I challenge you to find one Lebron James dunk that starts from that far out and give me the link. To switch hands in mid flight and finish strong with the offhand is even harder. To do it at the end of the fourth quarter in the NBA Finals when you're exhausted is superhuman. This move is a lot harder than MJ made it look.
@Dreamewalker I dont even like Lebron, lol. Kobe on the other hand does moves like this all the time. Of course not an exact replica. But the degree of difficulty, Kobe surpassed MJ by far. Type in Kobe 2001 dunk of the year. Its over Iverson. Now thats something you'll NEVER see EVER again.
@slapmyfunkybass I think MJ mentioned in an interview one time that he felt that Sam Perkins, number 14, was trying to draw a charge. Didn't look like it in the replay but in real time that's what went through his head and he felt compelled to switch to the left.
