I went to see this band at Rocky Point Park, in Warwick, Rhode Island, back in 1985. They rocked the stage. Heck, Rocky Point Park is now a big tract of abandoned land and I am not even sure The Romantics are even around anymore. Have lots of memories from that park.

Romantics look like a Duran Duran new wave band but they're more of late 70s rock band that got caught up in the vanity of the Corporate movement that MTV help start by the 80s which is still utliized as a main template for how all music videos should be. Image over music and lightly masked consumerism cleverly incorporated into the songs story line. As most know, Before music videos, your mind was the music video.
