  • so where exactly on the android market is that app? Cause i can't find it...

  • @Mazanostra It will be included with Ice Cream Sandwich! It's not on the market.

  • @jsr1693 Thanx :)

On a personal note, what are the odds of them releasing an upgrade for my 2.2 to ice cream?? None, is the answer :( Oh well....

  • @Mazanostra Like everything in life. You have to craft odds to yourself. Visit xda developers com and find out how to update your phone to Ice Cream Sandwich on your own. It's not as hard as they make you believe :-)

  • upiyinr mrrfd yp hry n;omfyu[r!!!

  • Each word typed on a keyboard creates a picture, or a shape, or design. If using swype, you see the picture drawn in it's path, like connect the dots. BlindType uses this technique just without the lines connecting the dots. If the picture is drawn on, doesn't matter what size the picture is or where on the screen its drawn, BlindType recognizes the word you drew

  • BlindType over Swype!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is why you don't want a brick with a fruit on the back with the same boring homescreen used for years. Its android nowadays and I love my HTC desire

  • i kinda get how it works. notice that the letters he types are one away from the actual letter (does that make sense?)

  • Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaat

  • Damn you auto correct!

  • @OreoKing LOL! would sure help when I go into super-speed-typing-mode though... SwiftKey'll do it for me for now.

  • When will this actually come to the android market??!!!!

  • This only looks like a prank to the iSheep!

  • Fuck Apple and their cheapness!

  • It's not a prank or magically reading your mind. It's simple, yet complex and would take some planning. It detects keys near it on the QWERTY keypad. It's similar to T9. Think about it you press... mno, abc, jkl, def, pqrs, pqrs, def, mno, pqrs, def

while you say wtf? The phone says makes sense. They implemented this idea into the touch QWERTY so if you hit a button, it assumes it could have been of the adjacent buttons as well.

On top of that they put in a priority style catalogging for words

  • the HTC keyboard on my Desire does the same exact thing (and support 2 languages at time).

I cannot live without it! :)

  • @pascalbrax lies

  • So this is swype without drawing lines?

  • Video doesn't make sense

  • We want our Blindtype!! I understand wanted to acquire this to keep it off the iPhone and you should. But, incorporate this into Android! We're at 2.3/3.0 and no mention of it. What gives. At least if they would have stayed independent we probably would have had this by now.

  • No joke. Google Voice/ Speach input is incompetent, like many Google products. Even the best (Dragon Naturally Speaking) is sort of ok. Reason for the release date 2020? too buggy, too many languages, no user dictionary, etc.

  • its not actually possible for the keyboard to read your mind and be able to tell what you want with actually hitting close to the right keys, many phones already have scripting for auto-text.

  • @Jasonalbums this is not a prank dude ive just came from crete to athens and i read on the plane magazine that two greeks have made this real!!actully they have no right on the app right now cause google bought the patent to include this as a feature in the android os.two greeks who studied computers in england went to san francisco and sold their app after the app hit thousands of dowloads in the app store.I really dont know how they did it but its freakin real.

  • Snap keys fucking destroys this....sorry google.

  • SO WHEN WILL THIS BE RELEASED ///??

  • Comment removed

  • @psalmsninetyone you are so ignorant? Are you 8 years old?

  • This+the speed of Swype=perfection

  • WOW.

The part where you can type anywhere on the screen, beside keyboard, really impressed me.

  • HTC IME can do the same thing...

  • @1337SunTzu

you can type off the keyboard now....

  • @1337SunTzu Yup, if you think about it, it's the same as T9, although for Qwerty keyboards

  • 1st off: that... is AWESOME

2nd off: i can imagine SO many high school kids getting this to txt their friends annonymously during class XD

  • Looks very promising but still I could not find this as an application. Meanwhile you can try GKOS immediately on your iPhone or Android. It has visible keys though, but they are few and big. Suit for big thumbs.

  • So, it's predictive?

  • Most of the comments are missing the point where you don't even need to begin typing on the keyboard at all, but rather anywhere on the phone. It maps out where the keys are based on your initial input. At about 1:00 in, a word is typed above the keyboard.

  • @qu1dpr0 Bloody hell, so it does. Good spot.

  • this immedietly wipes out all other typing apps there cud possibly be for ease of use or for practicing typing. PRACTICE? like allen iverson - "practice?????" hahaha

  • Hey Blindtype, will this program be available for Symbian^3?

  • pou ste re magkes etsi !!!!!!!!! kante uperhfanh thn ellada !!!

  • Bravo pedhia ! Sixaritiria !!!

  • Μπραβο ρε αλανια!!!!!

  • already got swype ;)

  • Make an option for this keyboard to work like Swype. That would be awesome.

  • mpravo!

  • Built by Greeks, bought by Google :-)

epitelous kai ena software tis prokopis apo Ellines !!!

    ena megalo bravo sta paidia

  • Bravo re alania!! Xairomai gia sas eilikrina! Makari kapoia stigmi na erthw stin thesi sas..

  • ΜΠΡΑΒΟ ΜΑΓΚΕΣ!!!!!

  • gregzzfh

  • @mijydu18 THAT MEANS RELEASE IT

  • kjkgfjd tdghlh

  • MY ASS!!

  • @TechTalk2076 oh yes!

  • I'd rather have a decent keyboard with real buttons than have some piece of software making a futile attempt at trying to guess what I'm typing.

  • @ZrednaZ

they are making a big deal out of this because it is accurate.

  • Why can't all these mobile phone/computer/ipod thinggys have virtual keyboards? You know, the one where you project a laser on a desk? Sure, the touchscreen is good when you don't have a flat surface around, but if you're in a coffe shop sucking up free wi-fi, then a virtual keyboard would be handy.

  • @bersaba You want a Seabird :-)

And if it ever happen then even Steve Jobs will want one!

(Just search seabird phone here on youtube to see why)

  • anything would look good with this soundtrack

  • Google bought BlindType...

I have a dream. BlindType on Android Gingerbread. By default.

  • Only support voor english, no dutch german etc!! lol

  • what i'd like to see is BlindType + Swype so you can do it all without lifting your finger.

  • my HTC made android phone can do this with shipped IME lol

  • nokia has txt slide... but swype will come to symbiand.

    So put swype on android

  • @jelmerth Androids already have Swype. All the Samsung Galaxy S series have them (Captivate, Fascinate, Epic 4G, Vibrant), Droid X I think has it, and anyone can have it if they're on the Beta.

  • Swype still owns this hands down, you don't have to type anymore and it also predicts words with amazing accuracy.

  • ok so google bought you....i smell integrated into android comeign soon?

also...can you make this for my desktop keyboard too? XD

  • OMG THIS IS AWESOME!!!

  • hurray! now my mom will understand what time i'll be back when she texts me :D

  • This changes everything...

  • there goes drunk texting :)

  • @shantenuagarwal AHAHAHAHA

  • I want this software to repleace the failing windows 7 touchkeyboard!

What do I need to do? Im willling to code for free. And Coffee.

  • Google, thanks for buying this company!

  • I thought swype was cool

  • OMG!! The last part where they show the guy typing "keyboard" with no keyboard and only red dots showing where he pressed was amazing! They should totally have a "INVISIBLE KEYBOARD" method where you can type on nothing and yet still produce text! LOVE IT!!!!!

  • Google just bought BlindType. Ladies and Gentlemen, prepare for the default Android Keyboard to have Autocorrect.

  • Wow, that is really cool! I've tried WM, iPhone, Android, and I just can't get used to an on-screen keyboard, this seems very helpful. Best thing since T9.

  • Can't wait for this wizardry to be released and opened

  • How does it predict the word "keyboard" at the end when the person is typing in blank space??

  • does it read our minds?

  • @frvfilms nah it just analyzes what you typed, then cross references it to actual words in the dictionary you could've meant. Like if you typed "tij" it could guess that the word you meant was "you" because t is right next to y, i is next to o, and j is close to etc.

  • @aznboi1214 lol i assumed it was something like that , i was joking,

  • google got it(:

  • @deaduck1 I understand, damn apple and their approval process!

  • looks sick, when are android and iOS getting this?

  • @tracerman iOS wont get it until apple loosens up its restrictions for the app store or it gets released on cydia.

  • @deaduck1 actually iOS gets it in the form of an app, but System Wide, Never in iOS life [unless of course... Steve Jobs get high ]

  • is it gna be on touch screen and qwerty keyboard fones?

  • It's Google's now. It's free now. Thanks Google.

  • This is the same thing SwiftKey has already done for a long time now! Although SwiftKey literally reads your mind by predicting your next word, also. SwiftKey has also been the number one app on the Market for over 3 weeks. I don't see how this keyboard is in any way better...

  • Heard Google Just Bought This Sorry Apple TT

  • @shaqgotcash Hahaha I can imagine all of these iPhone users seeing this video and getting so psyched for this app. And Google snatches it up...lol

  • congrats on being acquired by google, hopefully we'll see this in android's next official major release

  • @majdijr copycat

  • @andrewbanchich

lol i just noticed that, i feel stupid

  • Congratulations on being acquired by Google! Hope to see it in stock Android Gingerbread!

  • @andrewbanchich It didn't make it into stock Gingerbread (it's officially out now by the way), but seeing it in the new version of Android would be great! :)

  • @aliendude5300 yeah i'm kind of disappointed it didn't make it into gingerbread. i hope they add it to honeycomb, or even better release a minor update to gingerbread with blindtype and google music

  • @andrewbanchich probably not until honeycomb

  • its just suretype with a larger key selection space

  • They created something awesome and sold it to a huge company that'll help distribute it to millions of people. In what world is this bad? Innovation at work.

  • Comment removed

  • @compressormax You hope that a group of people developing an idea and getting paid for it doesn't become the way of the world? So, should they have worked on it and given it away for free? All their hard work and research should not have been rewarded in any way?

I think it's hilarious that you expect people to work for free. The next time you go to work, be sure to tell your boss that since you aren't "money hungry", you will be working without pay from now on.

  • dont be such d*cks by flashing this in everyone face for months before release just to get a little publicity. As xQuestx put it so perfectly "put up or shut up."

  • dont be dicks by flashing this in everyone face for months before release.

  • Release this already!!!! AAAaaaaaaahhhhhh

  • if you notice guys they haven't said anything about using this for SMS. all they have demoed it with is some basic notepad app. If I cant use this for texting then its a waste of money.

  • How does this work? It's complete gibberish, so wouldn't' BlindType create random crap that we won't want?

  • @Rasenganfan2Returns It watches patterns in the way you type and guesses, moving the keyboard area to where your fingers are and determining what you're saying based on a dictionary of commonly used words. That's why he can type in the middle of the screen and it understands words as well.

  • Q2 2011 - Won't Andriod be able to read my mind by then? who'll need a kb...

  • I got some inside news, this keyboard will be release on 4/1/2011.!!!!

  • @aznlilboiz Bullshit.

  • I typed the words exactly as written in the video into Swype and got "This valley pa beautiful." Considering "pa" is an actual word, I'd say Swype did pretty well, only really missing the word "ballpark." I want to see how these stack up though side by side in speed, accuracy, and ease of use.

  • @Dysbulic same did for me swype is really amazing.. i mean if this is a fake scam thing ill bet swype is the best keyboard out there. :)

if this is real then swype is the second. :p

  • Patience guys. I don't think they'll even release a beta until they get their patent.

  • damn tired of waiting for this. I hope it's not some kind of joke or something.

  • It will be the better app on Android.

  • *yawn* when can i download....

  • How does this deffers to T9

  • ... I don't like it. This borders on the realm of magic. It is clearly the work of unworldly demons and imps.

  • I'm betting this is a joke.

  • I don't get it. Where's the beta?

  • i want!!!

  • put it in the damn market place...or i'll go kill a baby!!!

  • also if they add multi touch to this it will be PERFECT

  • i want this keyboard on my phone so bad, also i like how it still looks like the Stock android keyboard unlike other keyboard replacements that make it look so ugly *cough* Swype *cough*

  • how the fuck is mashing your face on your smartphone = making a sentence?

  • stop hyping and release the product.

  • I need this!!!!!

  • this looks really nice

    \

  • DOWNLOAD LINK?

  • I'm looking forward to test driving this out. I love trying new keyboards out on Android. Will Apple let you guys make this into a keyboard replacement on iOS devices or will it be an app of it's own that you will copy paste into?

  • LOL good stuff. Looking forward to trying this out. I'm an amateur writer, and I'm curious as to how easy this would be compared to typing on an actual keyboard.

Does it handle ergonomic-style typing? i.e., hands at different angles?

  • egt it uot. i eend ti abldy

  • i will get it for sure.

  • stop with the lame videos you posers...its fake until we see a beta, put up or shut up

  • reallly looking forward to this

  • I will get it on my android... PLEASE

  • I'll agree with the rest. RELEASE at least a beta so we can see it. If it is as good as it looks then a purchase will be made. Just don't get cocky and try to charge more then Better Keyboard and Smart keyboard. :)

  • @aergern agree 100%

  • Enough with the videos, release the damn keyboard already, put up or shut up.

  • @xQuestx Be patient kid, they gota perfect it b4 they're gona sell the shit, y would you want to pull an apple move and release the iphone4 with an antenna problem?

    @aergern

They dont want to release the beta, they know there would be a work around to hacking it then they will lose profits.

You kids seriously need to learn to think.

  • Non sense just put a beta... we don't need a video.

  • Agreed. Just put the stupid thing out. I don't want to hear from you until then.

  • When will it be released?

  • talk is cheap. until it is in the hands of the masses there is no way to knoe it is true

  • you people need to stop with the hype. either put it out or shut up. whats next? a leaked version?

  • AMG! Stop posting new vids!! You're torturing me with the awesomeness!!!

  • @bbqkittens no dont tell them to stop! its too awesome to get the to stop posting vids :)

  • It isn't coming soon enough!

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome!

When will we be able to get this?

Will it be available as a normal app or require a modification to the OS? (i.e. would one have to JailBreak one's iPhone to use it?)

    Inquiring minds want to know!

  • @caspy7 Would need to hack your iPhone. Apple would never allow an app to change something like this. On the other hand, on an Android phone it would be as simple as installing the keyboard app.
