    マラカス持ってるしw

  • @hanaogra yeah ! totally agree ! ;)

  • all you who slated this r tossers. this man is god. roll on 29th june, boogy boogy!!!!

  • He sounds like a broke-down iggy pop. harsh on the ears. Wicked-good riffologist, though.

  • SHITE VOICE, GREAT GUITAR>STICK TO THE AXE!

  • I think you should all get fucked. I dont see a single person at this gig complaining.

  • John squire=GOD

  • Awesome fretwork but pretty dire voice. Stick to the axe wielding Mr Squire!

  • fuck, he sings so bad... he sould´ve played the vocal melodie with the guitar, totally instrumental.

  • Music's torch went out after the 90s. These guys were some of the last bearers.

  • John Squire is GOD

  • Remember - he wrote this song....so maybe you should allow him to sing it as he wrote it

  • My greatest guitarists ever

  • Support New Artist.....Quant'em as I try to leave my mark on the rapping and spoken word game....feedback is crucial and vital

Same name different genre just as good

  • Prefer Ian's because he does this whole whispery thing that sounds so awesome on Fools Gold -

But John is my favorite guitarist, i love how groovy and funky it is - sounds so good

  • I like his voice. Its nasal quality gives it a cynical tone which I think suits his lyrics.

  • @B1ggu5 they arnt his lyrics

  • John.... Por dios....habla con Ian y juntar a los Stone Roses... el mundo os lo agradecerá... fuisteis lo mas grande en años...

  • moly moly moly mole

  • Thats the gas bill paid...

  • god playing a les paul

  • The ears on my head are bleeding

  • Definitely better than Ian Brown's version

  • @LetsGoFackingMental you stupid cunt

  • @karltumelty so i'm being a cunt for having an opinion? twat..

  • @LetsGoFackingMental yes. you cunt

  • @karltumelty grow up mate...

  • interesting!

  • i like this version more than the original

  • This clearly shows that John Squire is a guitarist not a vocalist.

  • @isergemor hahaha ur fuckin' right

  • This is good as meant to be fun-singing..

  • well played by the band but yes shocking singin.

  • John and Ian aren't the best singers out there, but Ian's voice went well with the music of the Roses. Out of all the Roses, Reni had the best voice, like an angel. On "One Love", the backing vocals from Mr Alan Wren are heavenly.

  • @GlAmPoPpRiNcEsS reni is basically the most talented out of all. even mani admitted that his bass playing is nothing compared to reni's, and squire himself said that reni can play guitar almost as well as himself.

  • @doubleredsx3 I have to disagree. He's incredibly subtle, influenced alot of people and few guitarists have bettered him or had such a defined style. Some of his outros on their are own(i.e on where angels play) are better than some peoples whole albums, I wouldn;t take it too literally when he's saying Reni can play like him hes probably just being modest

  • @TrueRomantik yes! i agree with you completely! just saying that reni is very versatile and not just a drummer :-)

the good thing about squire is, people might be able to play his parts, but they can't write them. his guitar playing is so well woven into the songs... and so appropriate too! use of blues scales/chords and syncopation spot on to create that crossover between rock and funk! :-)

  • not too sad but agree the singing isnt great. sick guitar though!!

  • i love squire's guitar playing,very underrated!!

  • Awesome he doesnt have to sing i would pay just to see him play his guitar.

I wish squire and brown would meet up for a spliff and reform the roses.

  • brilliant

  • ouch

  • stick to the guitar lol

  • good voice lyk

  • John Squire sounds like that giant turtle that had a cold in the never ending story.

  • what a fucking legend.

  • voice its too common get a singer and stay on the guitar and the songwriting

  • I also love John's voice. It's rough and diferent. Really cool in its way. Miss his guitar so much, but love his paintings so...

  • Voice isn't so great but neither is Bob Dylan's so go on with your bad self, John-O. Besides, just watching John with a guitar these days is a treat.

  • ian brown sings like a choir boy compared to this but take nothing away from john squire the man loves art and we all change careers now and again !!!! thanks for the memory's tho...ian brown aint into a reunion so that`s all folks goodnight....

  • squire is like roger waters whereas syd barrett was the singer,or even gilmore.squire cant fuckin sing and dosent have the swagger to blag it but brown, allthough not the best singer carries the song with swagger

  • Stick to the guitar John...

Still great song though. 10/5 for guitar playing.

  • he takes it up the arse

  • the guitar on this is just fkin awesome!!

  • John Squire.

    Guitar God.

"Love Spreads" was the reason I picked up a guitar when I was 14 and taught myself to play.

  • squire is like a completely different man here

  • guitar legends should stick to playing guitar!

  • whoh hes john sqiure he wrote the fucking song he ll sing it if he likes

  • other guitarist luks like syd barrett

  • Never thought anyone could murder it as bad as Brown.

    What a guitarist though!!!

  • I was thinking that as i was watching it

  • brilliant music, terrible singing, even ian browns a bad singer but he still sounds amazing when he sings, squire just lacks a likeable voice.

  • @marcston91 that indie music for ya. you wouldnt complain after youve heard the fall singer mark e. smith

  • lets leave king monkey tae the vocals squire...p.s. a luv squire anaw

  • He could be 70 years old and this would still be COOL

  • 3.59 oo oo oo ools goal.... haha

  • Fook me its like the Doors after Morrison karked it - magic but shite at the same time

  • @Johnnymac7272 Bravo. Well said.

  • @Johnnymac7272

Have you seen that Doors concert where Eddie Vedder sings? It's amazing!

  • Jaysus...Get Ian back on the mike...Squire is ace on the axe but crap at singing.

  • John Denver on bass?

  • It's a good job Mr Squire can play the Guitar as he can't sing! what a solo!

  • It is bad isn't it? Wow.

  • and Squire could of played Jesus in ALWebers west end masterpiece

  • Didnt know Hank Marvin played bass for the roses

  • He sounds a bit like Mark E Smith

  • Horrible video editing. The only reason to watch this vid is to see Squire play. No one wants to see other members of the band. Sad as this is probably the only video of this show

  • Long live the roses

  • hes crap tunes brilliant

  • Amazing!

  • John Squire is a brilliant guitarist, but i think he really shouldn't sing. I wish The Stone Roses were back together, as a group, they were so much better than any of them individually.

  • He sounds bored as shit in the intro

    'Good evening...zzzz...

  • he always sounds like that.

  • Squire good...morons shit!!

  • is that jason spaceman on rythm?

  • the voice jus doesnt suit the song

  • I agree, but remember you're comparing his voice to Browns recorded studio version, if you hear Brown live you'll hear that neither can hold a tune

  • aye, but brown was always very hit and miss live, he has sung like can in the studio but alot of the time he's flat. in the end though nobody gives a shit, its ian brown! its about the music, the mood, the lyrics... not bout perfect pitch yano?

  • Compared to Reni, this drummer just sits there. Where's the energy!?

  • This version is total garbage.

  • I doubt very much a reunion will ever happen. Ian and john aint going to get together again. Pity, not just because of roses, but they were best mates from childhood. I liked it when john sent ian a box of maltesers when ian was jailed, with the note " i still love you". It was a while after the acrimoniuos split and showed John was weilling to try. Ian never did owt in return. John's an artist full time now. He did say after seeing led zep reuinon gig, it maight be a good idea but..

  • There will never be a Stone Roses reunion! It ain't never gonna happen so stop hoping?

  • theres no harm in hoping.. if you don't have hope then what do you have? nothing!

  • its like iggy pop doing car insurance adverts or your girlfriendstits falling off or something. justlike, no. noooooooooooooooooooo

(dives in front of stone roses in slow motion and heroically prevents reformation)

  • This comment cracks me up no end! :-)))

Yes, The Roses were about the right sound at the right time by the right 4 individuals. Take one of these elements away and the magic is lost. It will never ever be the same and no version of a Roses song will ever be the same as the originals, no matter whether it's John's, Ian's or Mani's... the Roses now could not pull off the Roses as they were!

    I don't dislike this version. it's a decent attempt.

And as a guitarist, he's still up there!

  • Still the greatest guitarist on the planet. But that singing makes Ian Brown on a bad day sound good. And it's true no one can copy Reni properly, he was a one off

  • john please dont sing, this song is missing reni and browny

  • john john john. what the fuck are you DOING mate?

  • This comment not only makes me laugh but completely sums it up for me man!

  • Earning money springs to mind! He's got kids & a wife to clothe, feed & provide for..He ain't that rich y'know?

  • u cant have john singing , wid love it if the roses dun a reunin tour !

  • yeah mate...wicked guitarist but very shit singer. not only shit but hideously corny at times.

  • Why the hell are they able to focus with such clarity and length on the other guitar player and bass player. Who gives a fu@k about them! Focus on Squire!!!

  • amen!

  • is not the same whitout reni

  • No it sounds Better!

  • yea but the battery does not sound as well as with reni

  • dont sing again. still love you.

    Love, Ian Brown.

  • JOHN,your still the greatest brit modern player ever.

  • Comment removed

  • fuck sake, thats the 1st time iv heared his voice at a gig, where he says "breakdown rounnd the bend" in the tune he is not wrong.

  • love the way squire outclasses every single musician around him when he breaks out the lead parts

  • I still think this version is great, even though the original is a classic. It sounds more... modern, if there is such a way of describing a song!

  • im suprised listen to the druming its to hands on and not rythmy enough without reni :(

  • John Squire could of took the part of Jesus in ALW Jesus Christ superstar

  • Did,nt know Hank Williams replaced Mani on Bass

  • na dizni work u need Ian Brown singing that.but wit kan i say,he's shithot on guitar

  • it is good but brown and reni i needed to "perfect it"

  • doesn't do the song justice, he tears it real hard and the flair how he plays it is awesome... but it's just not the same without Mr Brown to be honest... Drummer... nowhere near anything Reni. It's gotta be said!

  • I already had a high opinion of John Squire, but every time i hear/watch him, my opinion just goes up again. He just seems to create such a unique sound that nobody else can match.

Has to be said though, his voice here is crap.

  • awesome guitarist

ian brown was kinda of douche but he had better stage presence and a better vox

  • Greatest guitarist alive.Think he should stick to instrumentals , cos he's raping this like!!

  • after marr mate

  • is it just me, but his vocals are miles better than brownies.this(he cant sing) is all received nonsense born from lazy journalism read by people that cant think for themselves..end off

  • Can someone upload this from 4.28 please?!

  • Great guitarist, but step away from the mike mr squire!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Greatest guitarist of my generation

  • more of a marr man myself

  • Both are great...

  • sounds like ian brown turned into a tax attorney at karaoke night

  • johns a legend!

  • not got the stage presence, not got the voice. got the guitar skills. write the songs, an play guitar john. find a frontman.

  • Ouchy. Wish i hadn't watched.

  • the man got the blues 11!

  • well that makes 2 in the band that cant sing! MANNI!

  • I play guitar because of Squire but I dont sing ...... 5 stars for the guitars.

  • Awesome guitar from Squire on this.

You can tell the crowd love it when he kicks the guitar off after the verses.

  • What's The Story Morning Glory? zegt:

    riet 'm ein

  • Ian Brown is a cock. Always mouthing off AND he has not made anything decent since 'Unfinished Monkey Business' - although I must admit that is an amazing album. John's alright.

  • roryspics66 - shut up you silly fucking prick.

  • FYI you got me all wrong..I use to idolise squire and his playing,he WAS amazing and a huge influence to me and others. and I bet you were too young to have seen them on TOTP playing fools gold as well?? yeah thought so, fuck up you little shit! and get up to speed on (adult) humour and piss takin...

  • Who knew John Oliver could play bass...

  • He nearly has the Jesus look down, but all he needs now to complete the look is the 'crucifix shirt' he wore on TOTP for....Fools Gold!

    xD

  • lol! would be more suited to the resurrection!

  • its one thing for someone else to murder your song..but at least here me murders his own one xD

as for giving up the guitar, sounds like he's got to the stage hendrix was at...gave up the guitar cause he couldn't get the sounds on guitar what he was hearing in his head..

  • nobody could ever sing this as amazing as ian did, though he always sang tunelessly live

  • he is a great guitarist

  • He fucked up the roses and he fucked up this song - harsh i know, but it's true

  • john squire didnt fuck the roses up,if any1 did it was ian brown.this is prob the best live version of this song.

  • What? 2 things fucked up the Roses! and he WASN'T one of them!

Bad management and a different taste in drugs! Simple as that!

If your one of these people who REALLY needs someone to blame for the demise of the roses, its that twat Evans and his bodged Geffen deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Squire with his isolationist methods alienated everyone and especially Reni. When Reni left that was the beginning of the end. Ian went about his business and had his ideas rejected by John. Yes the drugs being used were different but again this was Squire who was snorting coke when the others were mostly on ganja. Yes Evans was mostly to blame but out of the band members it was John.

  • Yea, but that happens with EVERY band! you just have to get on with it! You even said yourself, When Reni left it was the beginning of the end!

    So technicaly, Reni's to blame!

And by the sounds of it, you say the rest were mostly on ganja like its a good thing!

I can tell you first hand mate, NOTHING gets in the way of writing tunes better than the fuckin weed! Plus if Johns coke snorting spurned on tunes from the second coming, then bring it on! Second coming is F'n awesome!!!

  • All that said though, It wouldn't surprise me if it was that twat Evans driving wedges inbetween them anyway! F'n snake that he is! Probs just wanted John as a solo artist so he didnt have to split the money with the other 3! Not that he ever did!!!!!!

  • Tbf Squire does well here. If i compare this to any live version i heard the roses do, i prefer this ten fold. There's a funky element to this that makes it work, go on John.

  • john dont give up painting for singing mate.lol...did you know he did the animation on danger mouse cartoon

  • I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I feel peculiar.

  • Loads of different bands and singers try to cover this song but it just seemed to suit Ians voice its that simple,it added a kind of strange magic air to the music. If you are a real fan you will understand how important Ians voice was in the band and what I mean by magic....

  • +1 spot on..

  • not as good as stone roses. cuts me like a knife.

  • the a-bit-off-key singing matches the psychedelic guitar. the rhythm section is pretty dance worthy. Good.

  • i refuse to liten to jhon squier raping the stone roses, goodbye.

  • what about ian he loves rap music

  • think he meant rape!

  • yeah, i meant rape

  • I quite like John's voice in some of the Roses versions he does, but it's definately not working here... I guess Ian's airy voice is too important to this song.

    Great guitar solo btw...

  • what the hells happened to him? and whats with the deep south drawl? nice chops though....

  • I finally figured out that voice.......Midnight Oil

  • i quite like this version of the song

  • i don't think hes that bad of a singer, sounds normal. just seems awkward if you listen to ian singing for years then you hear john squire, but if this song was written and sung and played by him first it might be different.

  • Sounds very bad without Ian...

  • Singers like Laim Gallagher and Ian Brown aren't very talented singers, it's just they have a very unique voice which makes all cover singing sound pretty shit like this for example, no offence to Squire
