Sorry, but this isn't really a matter of opinion. I mean, you can interpret the scene however you want, but the fact is that it was SUPPOSED to be suspenseful and horrifying as intended by the creator. And Faulconer didn't understand that. Or he did, but then he just had to change it under the command of Funimation, as the show was purposely being dumbed down at the time to be more marketable towards children.

Bruce Faulconer (The guy who made the music for the American dub of DBZ) released several CD's with music tracks from DBZ on them without voices, just the music itself. THIS track that plays in this video was NOT included on those CD's. So a CD quality version of this track (without talking or sound effects from the show) is UNRELEASED. I had to rip this myself. I don't know how to explain it any clearer than that. ^^;
