They turn their sirens ON and right OFF in front of my place of residence and blow their horns. I used to have so much respect for officers putting their lives on the line but ask me now if I do. These officers were not on duty and were working for the club which is private property. They can make you leave and if you refuse they can arrest your for trespassing, once again your on private property.

What I am is smart enough to know that a police state is one where the police act to suppress the will of the people and force compliance with whatever the government wants. Historically, police forces that have been militarized end up being used in malicious ways. If you think those officers aren't purposely wearing military fatigues, combat boots and low contrast name tags you just don't get it.

Of course, any reasonable person would conclude that what the officers were doing was attempting to cover up their unprofessional behavior and get me to stop documenting it (= charges dropped). I was actually patronizing the Quicktrip when this occured. But that wasn't the point. I wonder if the North/Tucker precincts have a lottery to pick the lucky officers who get to patrol El Noa Noa at closing time?
