To all non muslims who say our religion isn't perfect- The religion is very much perfect, but we are humans and we all make mistakes. Just like there are good and bad people in other religions, there are good and bad people in Islam too. And no religion teaches hatred. Its just misinterpretation of verses and lack of knowledge or ignorance of certain so-called muslims who kill in the name of Allah SWT. Also, these people will have to answer to God one day because God is merciful and just.

@good2goski My family has lived in America since before the Revolutionary War and has served in the military for generations. One of the things America prides itself on is the freedom of religion. Its what our forefathers fought for and what we will continue to believe in. Freedom of religion also includes the freedom to wear a cross, a yamaka, a habit, a hijab or any other religious dress that your religion requires. Its anti-American to restrist the hijab/niqab.

Sometimes wearing the hijab is such a challenge in the western world. There are times when I feel so tempted to remove it and to dress like any other girl in America. Alhamdulillah that during those times is when Allah swt gives me an experience that makes me so proud of my hijab and rejuvinates my love for Islam and my love for the hijab. Insha'Allah I will wear it for the rest of my life. Allah o' Akhbar!

@stratfordny I agree with you entirely. However, as a member of the Muslim community, I have rarely seen non-muhajibats (women who wear hijab) ever chastised or facing hard consequenes. In fact, much of the younger generation doesnt wear it at all. I suposse in a country where its mandatory it would be different but there are over 40 Muslim countries in the world... I can think of only 2 where the hijab is mandatory.

Truth801: Greek Orthodox Christians as you say only exsted as a separate part of Catholic Church after you, Muslims conquered Constantinople and the 2 parts of the former Roman Empire were isolated. The Orthodox then started having their own religious leaders because you stopped them from communicating with the rest of Christianity. Actually non muslims are not allowed to enter Makkah anyway and HIJAB is a gift for muslim women and all of them wearing it by their choice and they havent been forced to wear it and also to obey Allah's commands.

Freedom has some limitations, you are not free to decide you want to become a slave or you want to mutilate yourself or commit suicide. SO is women, after men's preasure and a stupid education which shows them their only value is their virginity or their "honour" want to become slaves...they must forget about it in OUR countries. Hijab is a disgusting shit, a discriminatory tools which isolates women from men, and Muslims from no Muslims in Western societies, a tool to avoid integration.
Nuns don't use Hijab, they use in 99% ocasions short skirts ( about 20 cm over their feet) and nothing on their hair. They hair is short and they use loose clothes, no make up and no jewellery. Only some very few nuns cover their hair, but even those wear short skirts. About 1% of them use a long habit. They work in schools, hospitals, etc.. so it is stupid to wear a long skirt and a thing which covers their har. Anyway they NEVER cover their face or neck.
2- But I must remind you nuns don't get married, they dedicate their lives EXCLUSIVELY to God and to help their fellow citizens. They can't owe any material thing, they must obbey the Pope in all decisions. I know perfectly what I am talking about because I am Spanish and it is a Catholic country. Nuns, as priests, isolate themselves from material live: properties & family and dedicate their live to God. Priests also used to cover their hair and also wear habit, despite nowadays most don't do so

To all non muslims who say our religion isn't perfect- The religion is very much perfect, but we are humans and we all make mistakes. Its what our forefathers fought for and what we will continue to believe in. Alhamdulillah that during those times is when Allah swt gives me an experience that makes me so proud of my hijab and rejuvinates my love for Islam and my love for the hijab. Insha'Allah I will wear it for the rest of my life. Allah o' Akhbar!

@stratfordny firstly, dont assume. I was not raised to think anything since I was a child. Im a Muslim convert. Secondly, read the Qur'an and research the role of women in the Prophets (saws) days. Im tired of having to explain the same argument over and over again. Study it for yourself.

the problem is that they don't have the freedom to NOT wear it if that is their wish... I have a problem with that.. but.. I am not claiming to be know it all.. I am however free to express my opinion as are you... and it kills me that there are women that do not have that freedom...

@MuslimahSoapbox Dear, all I am saying is that, whoever does not wish to dress like that, should have the right, and the freedom not to do so, while many choose to do it and are happy to do it, you are one of those, it is not fair that soooo many of them who may not wanto HAVE to, or face harsh consequences... that is my point.. it hurts to see other women not be able to enjoy the freedom to 'choose' without being chastised. @stratfordny I agree with you entirely. However, as a member of the Muslim community, I have rarely seen non-muhajibats (women who wear hijab) ever chastised or facing hard consequenes. In fact, much of the younger generation doesnt wear it at all. I suposse in a country where its mandatory it would be different but there are over 40 Muslim countries in the world... I can think of only 2 where the hijab is mandatory.

Truth801: Greek Orthodox Christians as you say only exsted as a separate part of Catholic Church after you, Muslims conquered Constantinople and the 2 parts of the former Roman Empire were isolated. The Orthodox then started having their own religious leaders because you stopped them from communicating with the rest of Christianity. Christain women have never covered as Muslims do, you just have to see any picture of the time. BTW; Islam IS A BACKWARD RELIGION

Muslim women should be forbidden to wear the hijab in western countries, until all women can wear whatever they want in the streets of Mecca.

Actually non muslims are not allowed to enter Makkah anyway and HIJAB is a gift for muslim women and all of them wearing it by their choice and they havent been forced to wear it and also to obey Allah's commands.

Finally the Hijab has lots of advantages for the women. The problem is you guys dont know waht is the benefits of that and missunderstanding the wisdome of wearing Hijab

Freedom has some limitations, you are not free to decide you want to become a slave or you want to mutilate yourself or commit suicide. SO is women, after men's preasure and a stupid education which shows them their only value is their virginity or their "honour" want to become slaves...they must forget about it in OUR countries. Hijab is a disgusting shit, a discriminatory tools which isolates women from men, and Muslims from no Muslims in Western societies, a tool to avoid integration.

Nuns don't use Hijab, they use in 99% ocasions short skirts ( about 20 cm over their feet) and nothing on their hair. They hair is short and they use loose clothes, no make up and no jewellery. Only some very few nuns cover their hair, but even those wear short skirts. About 1% of them use a long habit. They work in schools, hospitals, etc.. so it is stupid to wear a long skirt and a thing which covers their har. Anyway they NEVER cover their face or neck.

2- But I must remind you nuns don't get married, they dedicate their lives EXCLUSIVELY to God and to help their fellow citizens. They can't owe any material thing, they must obbey the Pope in all decisions. I know perfectly what I am talking about because I am Spanish and it is a Catholic country. Nuns, as priests, isolate themselves from material live: properties & family and dedicate their live to God. Priests also used to cover their hair and also wear habit, despite nowadays most don't do so

You don't even know the meaning of that. Real men, not insecure middle ages randy men, trust their wives, because they chose them, after having had a life, goint to school, university and work with them. Real men know the most effective way to be sure your wife will always be faithful is to make her happy and feel in love, to respect her and help her to develope her capacities, just as she does with him. Real men want real women not babay brainwashed dolls, with whom they can share life, kids, problems, hopes, economic burdens, etc..

OH! Of course you aren't interested! By the time you know what I am talking about it will be too late for you. You'll find yourself with 5 children & a husband who doesn't care about you. I know how it works, I have Muslim friends & I know what hell their marriages are like & how trapped they feel, despite they would die before telling any other Muslim member of their environment. I also know many Muslim men who feel close to a heart attack because of the preassure your religion places on them.

GOD has never order any women to cover herself. It is so stupid you worry about covering but you accept arranged marriages which are just a legal way of slavery/prostitution: Sex for economic security. YOU will never know what a real man offers a woman whom he considers equal, because you will never be considered equal by a man even if you live in a free country because you accepted a discriminating tool since you were a kid. You will know what is sex., marriage & children but not real love.

Nuns don't make up to insinuate men what they could get (if they pay the price of marriage), they simply are not interested in sex or marriage. Even the ones who don't cover at all, get no sexual galnces because they dress in a way no lust can be awaken. But this is not the issue. The issue is Muslim women believe they must hide their body in order to be "modest" How much I hate that word!! They believe they are not as strong or valuable as men, they believe marriage is their only destiny.

Muslim women think they are not as capable as men, they feel the "honour" of their family and their "honour" is between their legs. They accept the burden of avoiding their illiterate randy fellow men control their instincts by converting themselves in walking tents, placing the responsiblity of men's "sins" on their shoulders. They are not brought up between men in a equal way. They feel their society expects different things from tham than from their brothers.

Muslims should be ejected from Rome, Paris and London until people of all faiths are free to enter Mecca.

Actually Muslim women shouldn't be allowed to wear Hijab or any other stupid discriminatory dress, because it is a SYMBOL of oppression, of discrimination, of placing the burden of decency only on women's shouldres,a symbol of men's control over women. No personal believe is above our rules, laws & values, so if they want to go on discriminating women they should go back to their desert to do so. I guess it is just A WOMAN'S CHOICE. That is what it should be about... a woman's freedom. I just wish more of the Muslim world (not all) were not so pressuring towards women to where the hijab because then it is no longer THEIR DEFINITION of freedom.
