@technogong No, just assuming that with a new reading comes new understanding. That's why I keep reading the bible and keep reading it in as many versions and languages as possible. It's a distinct advantage to be able to understand it at that depth and one reading of one version just wasn't going to give me that. It's also why I argue with people, sometimes they see things I haven't or in a way I haven't. Perspective is everything and only broad experience and an open mind can provide it.

@technogong I want people to think for themselves as well. It is with that in mind that I suggest you read "Signature In The Cell" AGAIN with a more critical examination. If you continue to do so you I believe you will discover that it is NOT science and that even it's basic hypotheses are flawed beyond repair. I would maintain that there is NO scientific argument for intelligent design and I'm willing to back that up factually and rationally.

@technogong No, just assuming that with a new reading comes new understanding. That's why I keep reading the bible and keep reading it in as many versions and languages as possible. It's a distinct advantage to be able to understand it at that depth and one reading of one version just wasn't going to give me that. It's also why I argue with people, sometimes they see things I haven't or in a way I haven't. Perspective is everything and only broad experience and an open mind can provide it.

@MrMZaccone, course I do, that would be ridiculous, but my point was its not just religion that can display signs of ignorance but scientists too. if you are on a platform in space, no stars, just space, then something goes wizzing past you, scientists take measurements about how fast the object was moving and they write them all down... but.. the object wasn't moving and really the platform you are on was the only thing that was moving, what if some things may appear like facts, but aren't.

@technogong Some things always do, that's why theories are never proven, merely supported by more and more evidence i.e. they aren't disproved by experimentation DESIGNED to do so. Repeatable observations, testing and results or the theory (or the questionable portion) get's thrown out and replaced by one that fits the new "facts". This happens ALL THE TIME in science. Not so, faith based religion. The book is true because the book says the book is true ... forever. Don't bother with facts.

It was once thought that the earth was stationary and the center of the universe. Scientists proved this incorrect, with religion fighting them EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. I'm surprised someone who likes to research as much as you do wouldn't know that about your own example. Or, did I miss the point?

I can think of no way of determining absolute motion from relative motion when there are only two objects to deal with. That is, if that motion is of a constant velocity and direction. Fortunately, most "hidden variables" usually become detectable through some means. Hence the demise of things like "phlogiston" chemistry and the detection of things like X-rays. However ...

Of course it's possible that some very insightful individual grasped the concept of the earth's position and motion before that concept was published. In fact, it's quite certain. Unfortunately, the catholic church crushed all but a terracentric interpretation of the facts for centuries.

Well, it's no secret that VFX is delusional to the nth degree, so I guess we have to look at it that way. He lives in a world of his own making so nothing he says anymore surprises me, I guess. And yes, it's true that everyone knows for a fact that he only allows ass kissing comments, never an opposing comment. I know, I tried many times when I 1st saw his vids.
I guess he just pretends to not be aware that everyone has him pegged as a deluded, fantasy prone, village idiot. A sad case indeed.
