Yugson grooves so effortlessly, even though it's a really fast song (133 bpm). It's also interesting how the confrontational attitudes of Babson, Conway, and Cricket really shows in the dance. I appreciate Yugson's civility. It's distracting to spend brain power dancing at someone rather than sharing with someone and dancing 100% with the music. Anger is not something to bring to dance, it doesn't do justice to our highest qualities as a species or as members of house culture.
I like Crickets´ style becouse it´s something very unique and amazing, particularly those great killer moves.... but I defenitly love that shit what those talls french dudes are makinng, they listen music better and it is absolutely impossible to move like Cricket if you´re as tall as Babson(and me :O)...

So then I can go do hand hops and flares and 90s and what not as long as when I'm done I start to jack again? I pop, House, and Break. So as a dancer of all forms, I definitely am not against mixing the styles, but if your in a bboy competition, dance appropriate to the style, its like saying if your an abstract bboy its ok to crash, or its ok to stand an finger tuts for 5 minutes rather then dancing, doing poses and head slides and not hitting beats isn't rectified because he was grooving.
i agree w/ what you're saying but i have to correct you on "So as a dancer of all forms". i'm assuming you left out the other 1000+ styles that you know (since you said ALL)...lol
yeah i think most dancers in every style though (ones w/ battles) focus too much on moves (impressing instead of expressing) and imitating other people's styles that really focusing on the music & getting lost in the groove. that's how new styles are born.
Hahahah well I meant in that circuit, when your at a bboy competition most of the time if there is another competition there its house, popping, or locking. I rarely go to a bboy comp an see a ballet sign up sheet ahahahhaha........
actually capoeira is part of 'lofting' and lofting is a softer neo-soul/afro/latin style that came from disco. so anything other than that, like straight up tech-house, early chicago house, acid house, deep house (orig deep house like early 90s & detroit house), or broken beat and capoeria usually looks totally off and is not hitting any of the rhythms. that's b/c it's not a response to those styles of house music. the beats in this battle are too hard for capoeira.
also, i've never seen cricket do capoeira. bboying for sure, but they are very diff from each other. and headslides are def not part of capoeira anyway.
Blah Conway was off beat a lot of the time, doing house steps either to fast or not grooving to it, an cricket was to bboyish, fucking headslide in a house battle??? Da fuck........
There's technically nothing wrong with headslides in house, since house is supposed to be an open form, but it didn't go with the music, and most of cricket's material wasn't really to the music. I think Yugson had this one. He's easily the most musical, and he's a good sport. Funny how he's constantly regulating on Babson.
That's the same way I was feeling! LOL! I tried everything to find that track. I been online typing in lyrics to see if I could find matches and NOTHING. EGHCK!!!

You are forgetting.. Capoeira is a huge part of House Dance, mate.
so in the case of Capoeira, all that Cricket was doing was legit.
