  • I just picked up a 9420 model. I plan to take it to Kutztown park portable

  • Nice set up! How did you hook it up/

  • Thanks for your comments. I don't understand your question? I plugged the paddles in back of the rig, I put 12 volts from the battery that is under the rig and plugged it into the radio, I hooked up the coax to the coax connector on the back of the rig and them tied the antenna to the roof support and sloped it down to the ground. I then connected the coax to the back of the rig. I then turned on the radio.

    What did I miss?

  • AW my question was not complete! i meant to say what is the power supple and how does it hook to the radio! Is the station manpack portable or does it need external power?

  • If you look closely at the rig, you will see it is on top of something that is colored gray. That is the battery. The battery is a 12 volt at 7 amp hours. The power cable if fused and plug into the back of the rig. This can all be put, antenna included, in a small carrying bag. If placed inside of a back pack, you will have lots of room left over.

  • Thanks for the demo. Very interested in the portable 20 meter dipole you used.
